The network of garden paths is not just an additional decoration of the personal plot, but also its logistics. It is through them that you get into the zones of the garden, different in their functionality. In order to get to any point by the shortest route, and therefore save your time, the transport network must be thought out. In addition to the landscape and architectural style in which your house is made, it is necessary to take into account such important indicators as the relief and composition of the soil. It is from the indicators of the latter that, quite often, you have to change your desires. Fortunately, today there are many proposals on how not only to connect, but also to decorate the site with such an element as a garden path. Before the idea is brought to life, the plan is "applied" to the draft design and only after that future transport arteries are marked on it
The central garden path connecting the main areas of the garden or along which you plan to walk often is best done flat or, in accordance with the size and style in which your site is made, meandering - with smooth lines and turns. The path should harmoniously fit into your garden, be an integral part of it and, at the same time, beautifully complement it. For convenient maintenance of the network of paths, experts advise to "cross" the central and secondary transport arteries of the garden using smooth corners. The materials with which you plan to embody your conceived should correspond to indicators such as strength, softness. Their surface should be slightly uneven so as not to slip, for example, if there is ice on the street.
The arrangement of the path begins with the preparation of the base for it. Only then the coating is laid in it. In order to prevent moisture from accumulating and not stagnating after the rains, it is made from the center to the edges with a slope of two percent. Watercourses are located at a distance of 40-50 centimeters from the central alley. They are placed at a shorter distance from the paths - from 15 cm to half a meter. If it is not possible to place a watercourse on both sides, you can do with one. In this case, the slope of the path should only be in one direction. As for the size standards, the width of the main path varies from 1, 2 to 2 meters, adjacent - from 40 to 70 cm. You can define the clear boundaries of the paths using curbs. They also strengthen their edges. The border is deepened into the soil by 10-15 cm, only 10 cm of the "rim" remains at the top. The components from which it is made can vary. For these purposes, stone, brick, concrete or even wooden blocks will do. The main thing is that, in general, the selected texture fits into one ensemble with a path in the garden. If you stopped your choice on a tree, then it must be prepared for work. To begin with, treat with a special agent that will help prevent the decay process. The top layer is made oblique to prevent water stagnation.
There are many options for the execution of the garden paths themselves. They look great on the site from a stone, for example, such as quarry or cobblestone. The transport logistics created in this version will have a long service life. Before you start working with natural materials, you need to prepare them: clean and rinse. For flat stones, place the sand base at a depth of 5 to 10 cm. For a buta, the size of the indentation is determined by the size of the largest cobblestones you will use. The gaps formed during the laying are filled with small pebbles and everything is poured with a solution. If the stone path you are laying is designed for the passage of cars, then excavation must be carried out to a depth of 20 cm to half a meter, then fill in a layer of crushed stone with a height of 10-15 cm. All this is compacted and moistened with water. After - it is poured with concrete. Its height should be from five to ten centimeters. Then the surface for the future track must be leveled. Next, the stone is laid out on cement, the distance that forms between them is poured with a solution. Its top edge should be flush. It is possible and higher, but quite a bit. Otherwise, after winter, cracks may form in the path.
