Paving slabs are quite good for creating unusual paths in the garden. Today, hardware stores offer various options for it, which can be easily assembled into an interesting pattern. In addition, modern tiles are very reminiscent of natural materials
At the same time, it is durable and does not heat up under the scorching rays of the sun and releases excess water into the ground through the seams. And most importantly, the paths made of such tiles do not require special, painstaking care. Moreover, if necessary, part or all of the canvas can be dismantled and then returned to its place. These tracks are split on a pre-created basis. If you took a gravel-sand mixture for it, then you need to fill in 15 cm of gravel, and after that - 5 cm of sand. If there is a concrete base under the tiles, then its height is determined by the purpose of the coating. Each layer must be leveled and tamped carefully. After the final laying of the tiles, the seams between them are sprinkled with sand, the excess of which must be removed, and the masonry itself must be poured with water.
Quite beautiful and unusual garden paths are obtained from clinker bricks. Also, like paving slabs, this material has high wear resistance, moreover, it is not afraid of moisture. The brick is laid in the sand in a solution. It is necessary to prepare an earthen trough in advance. Sand and gravel are poured into it. The height of the layer should be 10 cm, then it is tamped. Brick paths are also suitable for sites located on subsidence soils, swamps and peat bogs. To strengthen the base, a reinforced concrete pad is placed on top of the crushed stone. Its thickness should be 8 cm. A gartsovka is poured onto it and its surface is leveled. The last layer is brick. For leveling, use a building level, but keep it exclusively horizontal. After that, it is spilled with water. When the masonry "grabs", it must be sprinkled with a layer of sand in two centimeters. The boundaries of the path are separated by a brick border. If desired, they can be positioned both at an angle and placed on the edge.
Often, paths from a monolithic concrete pavement are poured in home gardens. If the choice is made in favor of this option, then the work begins with a breakdown. After that, the top layer of soil is removed, the remaining one is carefully compacted. The top edge of the formwork should be five to six centimeters above the ground. You can align it with an ordinary cord. Pegs are driven in where planks or wooden blocks meet one another. In addition, slats are installed at a distance of one to one and a half meters to each other, perpendicular to the formwork. Sand and crushed stone 10 cm high are poured into the gap indicated by them, this layer must be trampled down and poured with concrete. This type of transport logistics for your garden is much more economical than the methods of creating them described above.
If you have unused concrete slabs "lying around" on your site, you can also use them. For them, a base of sand with a height of 10-12 cm is also prepared. The plates are laid close to each other, so that the size of the seams is no more than 0.5 - 0.7 cm. In addition to sand, the base can be covered with crushed stone. In this case, the concrete slabs are laid on the mortar. In this case, the height of the seams that are formed is greater and is approximately 1 - 1, 5 cm. In order to check their evenness, both a building level and a stretched cord are used. By the way, since over time the soil will sag, and with it the path, then it should "grow" above ground level by 3-4 cm. You can decorate this version of the transport artery of your garden with pebbles or ceramic tiles, which are great for decorating.
