White spot, or septoria leaves of strawberries, significantly weakens the vegetation and significantly reduces its winter hardiness. Especially strongly this disease attacks plants with strongly thickened strawberry plantings. And it is distributed almost everywhere where this wonderful fragrant berry is grown. Usually, the first signs of septoria appear in the spring, closer to mid-May
A few words about the disease
At the very beginning of the development of the disease, the formation of rounded small specks (no more than two centimeters in diameter) begins on the strawberry leaves. Initially, they are brownish-reddish, but after some time their centers turn white, and the brownish-red color remains only at the edges. Further, as septoria develops, the centers of the spots die off, resulting in the formation of numerous holes. At the same time, a certain part of the strawberry leaves may dry out ahead of time. And with a strong lesion, the specks often merge.
On antennae, peduncles and petioles, septoria can also appear in the form of brownish elongated spots. In addition, such spots will be slightly depressed. Infected peduncles often adhere quite closely to the soil surface.
In all the spots that form, mushroom spores gradually ripen - with their help, the pathogen fungus will spread in the summer. The causative agent of septoria winters mainly on dried leaves. Harmful spores are spread by the wind and are often transmitted through planting material. Most often, this ailment develops on fertile heavy soils with an excess of organic matter. To a large extent, its development is facilitated by the cultivation of varieties that are heavily affected by this ailment, excessive application of organic fertilizers, thickening of plantings, as well as excessive watering, dew and rain.
Sometimes in the second half of summer, uneven or rounded rather large specks of reddish-brown tones appear on strawberry leaves, and all the leaves look dried up. In this case, we can already talk about infection with brown spot.
How to fight
In early spring orchards infested with white spot, all dry strawberry leaves should be burned. It is also necessary to remove all dried leaves during the growing season - they are fertile soil for the wintering of harmful fungal spores. You should also avoid excessive thickening of strawberry plantings and in no case allow weeds to spread over the site.
After all the dried leaves have been removed, however, before new ones have time to grow, it is quite abundantly recommended to spray the soil together with the bushes with "Nitrafen" (the so-called eradication spraying). Instead of "Nitrafen", it is allowed to use Bordeaux liquid (400 g is taken for ten liters of water of this agent). Also, if necessary, Bordeaux liquid can be used in the initial stage of regrowth of new leaves, as well as before flowering and at the end of the harvest, only ten liters of water of this agent in this case will require only 100 g. When spraying, it is important to ensure that the salvage solution also fell on the undersides of the leaves.
A good effect can be achieved by using a number of substitutes for Bordeaux fluid - Figon, Tsineb or Tsiram. For prophylactic purposes, in the fall, spraying with a drug called "Ordan" is carried out, and at the stage of spring regrowth of leaves, it is allowed to use "Euparen" or "Falcon".
With a sufficiently strong development of septoria after harvest, it is recommended to mow strawberry leaves with their subsequent destruction. By the way, this measure will also help in the fight against strawberry mites. And after all the leaves are mown, the remnants of strawberry bushes should be watered abundantly.

White Spot Of Gooseberry And Currant Leaves
White spot, otherwise called septoria, actively attacks gooseberries with currants in the summer. Red currant is affected by such an unpleasant ailment to a lesser extent compared to black. The harmfulness of septoria is quite high, especially in the southern regions - dead tissue on infected leaves often reaches 20 - 50% of their total surface. This disease, in addition to the massive drying of the leaves, also causes their premature fall. And for sick shoots, it is characteristic
Brown Spot Of Strawberry Leaves
Brown spot affects strawberry leaves almost everywhere. This is a very dangerous ailment that provokes the rapid death of a huge number of bushes of fragrant strawberries. Since this harmful attack mainly attacks old leaves, its stronger manifestation occurs during the fruiting period of mid-season and late strawberry varieties. The massive development of the disease contributes to the defeat and early death of a rather solid part of the leaves, which in turn significantly reduces the productive
Brown Spot Of Apricot Leaves
The brown spot of apricot leaves is scientifically called gnomoniosis. Mainly from this misfortune, leaves and their petioles suffer, less often - fruits. The first signs of gnomoniosis can be seen already in June - yellowish blurry spots appear on the leaves. In order to save the long-awaited crop of apricots, it is important to identify this disease in a timely manner and immediately proceed to decisive action aimed at combating it. Otherwise, prematurely crumbling fruits will serve as the main reason
Brown Spot Of Cucumber Leaves
Brown spot of cucumber leaves, also called olive spot or cladosporiosis, as a rule, attacks cucumbers grown at rather high air humidity in greenhouses. The spread of this scourge occurs through seeds infected with the spores of the fungus-pathogen. Very often, the development of the disease can be observed in fruits. In order to avoid significant crop losses, it is important to timely identify brown spot and take the necessary measures against it
White Spot Of Raspberry Leaves
White spot, or septoria, affects not only raspberries (both cultural and wild varieties), but also blackberries. As a rule, the first signs of a harmful misfortune can be seen on the leaves by mid-May, and the peak of the development of white spot usually occurs at the stage of berry ripening. To a large extent, the development of this ailment is facilitated by moderate temperatures in combination with abundant rainfall (mainly spring). White spot especially affects old leaves
