Stock-rose

Stock-rose is a plant belonging to the Malvaceae family. Many people have known this flower since childhood. It is grown in the garden very often. All stock roses are distinguished by dense pubescence on the stem and leaves. The flowers have the correct shape and luxurious color. The fruit of this plant has a flat and flattened appearance. One flower has five petals in its structure, which grow together. As for the stem, it is erect and tough to the touch

Stock-rose is not at all demanding and not capricious flower culture, which feels great in any soil and terrain - even on wastelands and along the roadway. If you do not feed the plant and water it very rarely, it will still not die and will delight others with its flowering.

The most comfortable conditions for stock roses are observed in sunny areas, although partial shade is acceptable for growing this type of mallow. With a lack of sunlight and heat, the stock-rose can bloom very weakly and release undeveloped shoots. Also, when planting such a plant in the garden, you should take care of protection from the wind. Strong gusts can break stems due to the height of the crop. Any soil is suitable for growing mallow, but excessively moist and dense clay soils should be avoided.

The seeds of the stock-rose should be immediately planted in a permanent place, since the plant is very difficult to tolerate a change in situation. If the root system is damaged during transplantation, it will most likely not be possible to save the flower. The landing itself is performed in May-June. For this, the seeds are placed in specially prepared grooves with a depth of one and a half to two centimeters.

The seeds of this plant are large in size. Therefore, you need to maintain a distance between them during planting in the form of a couple of centimeters. From above, the seeds are covered with earth. In conclusion, you need to supplement the procedure with light watering. The first shoots are observed within seven days from the moment of planting. During the first summer season, the mallow does not bloom, since full development occurs only the next year.

How to plant a rose stock in a seedling way?

The stock-rose seedlings are planted in late February or early March. In this case, the seeds must be sown in individual peat cups. Then you need to place them on the windowsills, covered with plastic wrap. After the formation of the first shoots, the film will need to be removed, and the temperature will need to be created in the range of eighteen to twenty-two degrees.

The lighting should be good enough. Sometimes for this they supplement it with artificial lamps. It is very simple to care for such a plant, since for this you only need to water the crop occasionally. Loosening and top dressing are not compulsory principles of care.

In the garden itself, you need to transplant the stock-rose only in May, having previously hardened for three weeks. When planting, the distance between specimens should be between thirty-five and forty centimeters. With this method of planting, flowering can be observed already in the same year.

How to care for a stock rose in the garden?

The stock rose is an undemanding and not capricious flower culture. She needs minimal care and just a drop of attention. Even a novice florist will be able to perfectly grow such a plant on his site. It is necessary to water the plant, but this should be done only in case of drought and hot weather.

In this case, the frequency of watering should be rare. As a rule, watering the mallow once a week is sufficient. During the procedure, you need to pour water under the root of the flower, without getting on the leaves and the upper part of the stem. The stem-rose requires additional nutrients only when it grows on soil that is poor in micronutrients. Usually, the plant is fed once or twice during the entire summer season.

For the most lush and long flowering of the stock rose, you need to destroy the dried inflorescences. If the plant is not protected from gusts of wind, then a support must be created for them, to which the stem of the culture is tied. For this purpose, a wooden stake should be placed near the plant.

In general, the stem-rose tolerates cold weather and a decrease in temperature. Therefore, for the winter, it does not need to be covered with anything. Only young specimens need protection, so they are sprinkled with spruce branches or dry leaves. Some gardeners and summer residents use a special material for this purpose - lutrasil.
