The most important and attractive representative of the Clove family is the plant of the same name - the clove. But not all summer residents and flower growers know that in fact this culture is represented by the most diverse species and varieties that amaze with their splendor

Most flower varieties contain saponins. This substance forms a foam and is found in a wide variety of areas of the culture. Its largest amount is concentrated in the underground part of the plant. Clove crops include all sorts of interesting plants, including thistle, some types of kachima, and other flowers.

Many of them have been known to gardeners since ancient times. Saponin foam is very different from regular soap. It contains no alkaline substances. Even a small concentration of such a substance is capable of foaming water very well. It is highly valued in modern industry. It is used in the manufacture of halva, beer, fire extinguishers. You can find the substance in the composition of powders, shampoos, bleaching agents and cleaning products.

Non-repair varieties

Among the Dutch carnations, the most famous and original crop is the grenadine. This flower has been known since antiquity and includes a considerable number of varieties. All plants belonging to such a group differ in height up to half a meter, strong branching and abundant lush flowering around the entire perimeter of the stem. At the same time, the flowers are of medium size. Serrated petals are located around the circumference of the flower. The color of such plants can be found very different - the flowers are white, multi-colored, pink. Such a culture is resistant to winter weather, due to which it is grown in the central region of our country. Often the flower is used as gardening. Until the last, grenadine resists wilting, surprising its owner with a fragrant aroma, small stem height and beauty that does not disappear for a long time after cutting.

The Viennese carnation is another winter-hardy variety. It is worth noting its most important feature - the compactness and neat appearance of the bushes. Their height is no more than thirty to thirty-five centimeters. The texture of the flowers is most often terry. The flower sizes are medium. An attractive scent and early bloom in early spring are the qualities for which the Viennese carnation is valued by modern flower growers. Some summer residents grow a flower at home in pots. Other growers prefer to use a plant to plant trees in the garden.

Fantasy (a type of variegated carnations) is a group of flowers characterized by well-developed flowers with a double texture and several shades at once. In this plant, the petals have a serrated shape. As for the shrubs, their crown is dense, spreading and highly branched. In length, the stems of the culture can reach up to half a meter. English variegated carnations, Saxon, Avranches and German varieties look especially good in modern gardens. All of them have a charming appearance and harmoniously blend with the overall composition of the garden.

In Europe, one of the most popular carnation crops is the Flemish carnation. Its double flowers have an irregular shape and a striped color structure. There are several stripes of different colors on the snow-white petals.

Repaired carnations

Among the remontant varieties and types of carnations, one of the most popular is a dwarf flower with a "glandular" stem. In height, the plant does not reach more than twenty-five centimeters. At the same time, the stem of the crop is highly durable. Variegated flowers have a velvety texture.

Nice remontant carnation is an interesting flower with a very strong stem and double inflorescences of different shades. In Nice, the plant is still the main focus in greenhouses.

The carnation named Margarita has its roots in Sicily. Deeply and subtly dissected flower petals are the most important and special distinguishing feature of a flower. Most often grown in temperate climates. Since it fades very quickly after cutting. Seeds are sown in February, and slender shrubs can grow up to forty centimeters. The plant blooms throughout the summer season.
