Many owners of country houses want their summer home to look beautiful and rich. For these purposes, in modern stores you can find a fairly large assortment of various finishing materials that satisfy the needs of any person

One of the most common and acceptable options for every summer resident is siding, which can ennoble any home. Siding is panels that are joined together using special joints. The first analogs of this material were invented in North America in the 19th century. They were wooden planks that were nailed to the walls at a certain angle to protect the houses from rain and other precipitation.

Types of siding

* Wooden siding is an expensive material for home decoration, it can be made of impregnated (impregnated with antiseptics), dried or heat-treated wood. Such siding cannot be called environmentally friendly, since it contains polymer substances pressed under high pressure. Externally, wooden siding looks very attractive, it does not fade in the sun and does not swell from excessive moisture. But this material is not very popular, since some difficulties arise during its installation. Moreover, it has a high price and requires regular maintenance in the form of cleaning with soapy water.

* Metal siding is a material based on galvanized steel, the front side of which is covered with paint or polymer coating. The main advantages of this material are incombustibility, durability, resistance to mechanical stress and corrosion, as well as environmental friendliness. Quite often it is used for cladding country buildings, garages, but on residential buildings it does not look very aesthetically pleasing. But many modern manufacturers are trying to give metal siding a more beautiful look, imitating logs, ship boards or lining.

* Vinyl siding is the most widespread material in modern times for finishing country houses, and any other houses and buildings. Such siding is made of polyvinyl chloride. The advantages of this material are: durability, incombustibility, heat resistance, ease of use and installation, lack of electrical conductivity and low cost. In addition, vinyl siding is insect resistant and looks like natural. And thanks to the rich color palette, everyone can decorate their home in any style.

The subtleties of finishing the walls of a country house with siding

Any person can work on cladding the walls of a country house with siding, and you do not need to be a professional for this. It only takes a little time and patience. The facade is finished from the bottom up, that is, from the basement to the roof. For the basement, you can use special decorative panels that visually resemble a brick or wild stone. Together with siding, such a finish will look very cute and expensive. In general, the combined cladding is much more profitable in all respects, both in terms of performance and appearance, and price characteristics.

Before purchasing siding, you need to measure the entire house and sketch the layout of the walls, taking into account windows, doors and cornices. For example, vinyl siding has standard dimensions, and it is not difficult to calculate the exact number of panels. In addition to siding, you need to purchase starting and connecting strips, corners, cover strips and plugs. The number of these parts is calculated during design. If this issue causes difficulties, you should contact a consultant. Important: it is recommended to buy panels with a margin, since there is a high probability of panel breakage.

High-quality finishing with siding of a country house is impossible without construction tools. To do this, you need to have at hand: a grinder, a screwdriver, metal scissors, a level, a stapler, a tape measure and a hacksaw for wood. For the installation of the battens you will need: wood screws 75 mm, PSHO screws 19 mm, wood screws 51 mm, staples 10 mm.

In the event that the country house is intended only for summer residence and pastime, then there is no need to insulate it, it is another matter if the owners are frequent guests at the country house in winter. In the first case, a vapor barrier is attached to the walls of the house using a stapler and staples, then a crate of metal guides or wooden bars is placed vertically with a step of 40 cm. Only after these works, they begin to directly decorate the house with siding.

First, the starter bar is attached, then the outer and inner corners and the window bar. Next, cut the siding panel to size and insert into place. The panels cannot be inserted into the stop against the accessories; a gap of 5-7 mm must be left. The siding is fastened with galvanized self-tapping screws in the middle of the panel perforation, this approach will avoid deformation during sudden temperature changes.

Installation of insulated siding is a laborious process, but feasible. First, a vapor barrier is attached to the walls, a crate of a 50 * 50 mm bar is installed vertically with a step of 60 cm. Then a heater is laid between the bars, the hydro-vapor barrier is mounted with a stapler and the panels are fastened, as in the previous case, starting from the starting bar.

Popular types of finishes allow you to quickly and efficiently decorate and protect the facades of any dwellings and buildings. Facing a country house with siding is an ideal option for those who care about maintaining comfort during the gardening season.
