Translated from Greek, Dainante means "wonderful flower". Amazing inflorescences look like large pearls. They reach a size of 4 cm in diameter. Natives of China and Japan, the plants are firmly winning the hearts of Russian lovers of beauty. The variety of shapes allows you to create chic collections. There are several varieties of Dainante used in garden design:
• bipartite;
• blue;
• hybrid.
How does each option differ?
Dinante bipartite
It got its name from the forked leaf. As it grows, the plate at the end is slightly divided into two parts. Outwardly, they look like a hydrangea, a dark green shade with deeply cut veins, a serrated edge, and dense pubescence over the entire surface. The arrangement is opposite, in pairs.
Inflorescences are white with pink stipules, yellowish stamens, similar to small pearls. This species has 2 types of inflorescences: bisexual or sterile. The latter option excludes the possibility of obtaining seeds.
Frost-resistant shrub can withstand temperatures down to -30 degrees. Height reaches 60 cm, the same diameter is occupied by an adult bush. At home in Japan, the aerial part is preserved. In our wintering conditions, it dies off, and grows back in the spring.
This species is represented by two varieties Pink Shi, Pink Kii.
In June, the Pink Kii variety has juicy, pink hydrangea-shaped buds that open. White flowers of drooping form with pink sepals appear.
Pink Shi is distinguished by its late brush formation. He has white inflorescences in the center completely surrounded by pinkish bracts, pink sterile buds are located around the perimeter. In autumn, green leaves turn yellow, giving a special charm to the plant.
Dinante blue
A more perfect appearance with beautiful large inflorescences with rounded petals of a waxy structure. Taken together, they look like a bowl filled with many fluffy stamens. Shades, depending on growing conditions, range from blue to pale purple. The stamens are colored in the same colors as the flower.
The height of the plants ranges from 20 to 45 cm. The stems are curved in the form of an arc, at the ends there are clusters with buds. The leaves are round, pubescent, their color varies from light green to dark green, depending on the type of soil, nutrition. Petioles are reddish. The location is paired. From the axils of the upper leaf plates, brushes of peduncles with buds emerge. It dissolves in late May - early June. The homeland of this species is China.
Dinante hybrid
The successful work of breeders has resulted in a new form not found in the wild. The crossing involved the previous two species. The hybrid was named Blue Blush.
He has absorbed all the best features from both parents:
• strong, powerful stem;
• pale, fragrant foliage falling closer to autumn;
• large flowers, white with blueness (as they age, they are painted completely in a heavenly shade);
• long period of blooming of buds (spring, summer).
He is still rarely found in gardens in the Russian open spaces. Collectors of the beautiful managed to appreciate the beauty of the new hybrid.
Dainante inflorescences should be examined at close range. Miniature pearls open towards the sun, delight the eye with long flowering. It is enough to plant one bush, so that there is a desire to replenish the collection with new specimens.
