Miniature dainante inflorescences infect with love at first sight. There is a desire to protect the plant from adverse factors. Many gardeners ask the question: “Is it possible to grow exotic specimens in the middle lane? What kind of care does a plant need for its successful life?"
Habitat
Dainante bushes prefer openwork partial shade. The midday sun leaves burns on the juicy, delicate leaves in the form of light spots. Poorly tolerate dry hot summers. Grow well on loose, humus-rich soils.
Strong wind in gusts damages wide sheet plates. Plants are planted in a place protected from drafts. They love wet soil with good water permeability. The close location of groundwater damages delicate rhizomes. In central Russia, light shelter is required for the winter.
Landing
Dig up the soil onto the bayonet of the shovel. The holes are formed with a depth of 30-40 cm. At the bottom, drainage is arranged from clay shards, expanded clay or pebbles. Above is a sand pillow. The hole is filled to the brim with a pre-prepared mixture of peat, humus sand or garden soil in a ratio of 2: 1: 1.
A small hole is made in the middle, the rhizomes are straightened, and sprinkled with fertile soil. Seals the surface, spills with water. The first 2 weeks arrange a mini-greenhouse for better survival.
To retain moisture, reduce the temperature in the root zone on hot days, the soil around the plants is mulched with sawdust, peat or straw.
Care
In early spring, seedlings are fed with a complex mineral fertilizer "Kemira Lux" a tablespoon in a bucket of liquid. The procedure is repeated twice during the summer. Closer to autumn, they switch to phosphorus-potassium mixtures, for better ripening of the rhizome, preparation of bushes for wintering.
Throughout the season, the moisture content of the substrate is maintained at an optimal level, preventing it from drying out. Weeds are weeded in the "thin thread" phase. Dainante roots are close to the surface, so deep processing is excluded.
It is believed that "pearl plants" can easily withstand low temperatures. In recent years, prolonged frosts without snow cover have become more frequent. At this moment, the dainante may freeze out. Young bushes for insurance for the winter are covered with a layer of sawdust or leaf litter.
In early spring, early hatching shoots fall under recurrent frosts, flower buds die. Before the onset of stable warm weather, small shelters are built over the seedlings.
Reproduction
Dinante is propagated by:
1. By dividing the rhizome in early spring. Before bud germination, the bushes are completely dug out. Gently shake off the soil. The roots are divided into 6-8 cm segments, dusting the ends with ash. They are buried to a depth of 3-5 cm with a distance of 25-30 cm between them. Watered with a weak solution of potassium permanganate.
2. Freshly harvested seeds. Small grains are laid out on the surface of the soil in containers installed in greenhouses. The earth is moistened. The sprouts appear slowly over several months. Seedlings develop for a long time. In winter, they put boxes under phytolamps in a cool room. In the spring, they are carefully dived into the beds under the film shelter. Seedlings bloom in the third year.
The latter option is difficult for most gardeners. Requires painstaking work, patience.
Use in flower beds
Miniature dainante bushes are suitable for use on curbs, alpine slides in the shade. Look great against the background of carved green basil, black cohosh, astilba, Przewalski's buzulnik. Tall neighbors protect delicate "creatures" from the wind, create a saving shadow.
Dainante looks good among low-growing varieties of rhododendrons, conifers, hosts with colorful leaves.
Bushes protection
Delicate leaves of seedlings like to eat naked slugs, snails. By creating obstacles with sawdust, crushed shells or scattering chemicals, you can protect them from gluttonous pests.
In the fight against root rot, drainage at the bottom of the pit saves, preventive watering with a weak solution of potassium permanganate, and maintaining the soil in a moderately moist state.
"Heavenly Pearls" deserve attention from gardeners. In return, they are ready to thank their owners with abundant long flowering, juicy ornamental foliage. Try to make friends with the wonderful dainante plant to admire the delicate pearl inflorescences for many years.
