As soon as the gardeners do not call Godetia. Some consider it a plant for lazy summer residents. Others compare it to a boiling volcano, calling it a flower of passion. But all agree on one thing - the richness of the range of colors of its uncomplicated flowers delights and conquers hearts, contributing to the growth of the popularity of the ornamental plant
Hybrids with a wide range of colors
Annual herbaceous plants of the genus Godezia are twenty species of decorative flowering representatives of gardens and front gardens. It is impossible to imagine a summer flower garden without their single or graceful flowers collected in inflorescences. Godezia hybrids cultivated by gardeners are distinguished by a wide range of colors.
Several popular types
•
Dear godetia (Godetia amoena) - lanceolate green leaves adorn an erect bush that grows 30-60 centimeters high. All summer, the bush is covered with lovely funnel-shaped flowers of all colors. Crimson, red, salmon, pink and white flowers can be simple or double.
•
Godetia fluffy (Godetia dasycarpa) is a practically ground-creeping plant (20 cm high). Its leaves are green-blue, and the flowers are mallow.
•
Godetia grandiflorum (Godetia grandiflora) - undersized annual (height 30-40 cm). Leaves on branches are oblong, with a pointed end. Strongly branching bushes cover large flowers of various colors with an abundant carpet. Lovers of double flowering are especially attracted by the beautiful pink-purple double flowers, similar to an azalea.
Curious breeders have created many forms and varieties by crossing large-flowered and adorable godetia. The height of the new forms varies from 25 to 70 centimeters, allowing gardeners to choose the right height for a particular type of flower garden. There is also a choice between simple and double flowers, between different colors of flowers, which are bright pink or salmon pink, or even combine several shades in one flower. For example, pink-orange-white.
Growing
Godetia is an unpretentious plant, and therefore the soil for it should not be too fertile, but it must be moist and loose. On fertile soils, the foliage grows too lush to the detriment of the abundance of flowering.
For the above reason, you should not overfeed the plant when planting with nitrogen fertilizers. It is enough to add a complex fertilizer (20 grams per 1 square meter of land), in which the nitrogen content is not high.
When grown in containers and pots, a mixture of peat, sand and turf in equal proportions is used. Add 10-20 grams of complete mineral fertilizer to a bucket of such a mixture. In the summer, a monthly fertilizing with mineral fertilizers is desirable.
They can be affected by parasitic fungi that cause root rot, rust on the leaves. The methods of struggle are usual. Affected plants are destroyed.
Location and watering
The unpretentiousness of Godezia extends to her relation to illumination. She feels great both in the sun and in partial shade.
The plant is relatively cold and heat tolerant.
Although Godetia does not tolerate waterlogging of the soil, it also does not tolerate its dryness. Therefore, both in spring and in summer, it requires abundant watering.
Reproduction
Propagate Godetia in the "old-fashioned" way, sowing seeds in April directly into the open ground. Seedlings appear in a couple of weeks, sometimes a little later. So that the bushes growing over the summer are not cramped, the seedlings are thinned out, leaving them 20-30 centimeters of freedom. In late June and early July, the bushes will give abundant flowering, lasting until the coldest autumn.
One bush is planted in Godetia pots, they really love to branch.
They say that they can be sown at the end of summer in a sheltered place from the weather, so that they can be transplanted to the desired place in the spring.
Usage
Godeces are grown in the open field, placing them on different plans of mixborders, decorating them with flower beds or rabatki. Low-growing varieties are suitable for creating flower garden borders. A small curtain of multi-colored godetia will decorate the green lawn or the front entrance to the dwelling.
Godetia looks great when grown in pots and containers, decorating balconies, loggias, terraces, verandas.
Tall varieties are grown for cutting into bouquets.

People don't just express their feelings through words. Artists write "talking" pictures, composers help people communicate in the language of music. You can talk with glances and smiles. Do not forget about the colors, which can express a lot of feelings, if you know about the traditions that have developed in society. Of course, it is not necessary to follow the rules and standards when drawing up a bouquet. The human soul always remains the best mentor, and the best flowers for a bouquet are those that

And there are good reasons for this: in terms of nutritional value, it is close to chicken meat, and at the same time, it is better absorbed by its head sister. And if you grow cauliflower, which also has a bright shade - orange, purple, green - the health benefits of eating this vegetable can be increased significantly
