Many women (and sometimes men) enjoy doing various types of handicrafts. Some of these types do not require special conditions, mostly just good lighting and a comfortable chair. But sometimes you can't do without a specially arranged corner or even a room. An equipped place for sewing is especially important, because every time it is extremely inconvenient to get a sewing machine and all the necessary tools out of the closet, and what can we say about cutting and preparing fabric for sewing! But for other types of needlework, it is very practical to have a separate room, if there is an opportunity for this

So, you need to arrange a workshop room. Of course, in addition to the necessary set of tools and materials for needlework, as well as your own preferences in decoration, you need to consider something most important - the functionality of the room, since this is not just a place for leisure, it can be said to be a room for work.

Lighting

For any kind of handicraft, as mentioned earlier, good lighting is important. Therefore, it is advisable that the windows face the south side of the house or the southwest, since many are engaged in needlework in the evening hours. Also, central lighting is required as light sources. It is better if it is a chandelier with several shades so that the amount of light can be regulated. This is also important if the room is quite large. Of course, you cannot do without lighting directly in the needlework area. It can be a table lamp, sconce or floor lamp, or spotlights. It all depends on the type of needlework, but the brighter the room is, the better. You also need to take into account the angle of incidence of the light. The workplace should be lit in such a way that no shadow falls on it.

Finishing

As for the finishing of the ceiling, it is better to give preference to ordinary water-based paint or plasterboard ceiling. It is environmentally friendly and convenient.

If the room is small, or is located on the north side, it is better to use light wallpaper with a slight lemon shade or pale blue. These colors will create the illusion of more space and better lighting than wallpaper in beige and other colors. Also, in small rooms, you should not glue wallpaper with a large pattern. Better to give preference to small floral or abstract designs. Or, highlight one wall with catchy wallpaper, for example, the one where the work area will be, and paint the rest or stick one-color wallpaper.

The floor covering should not only be in harmony with the look of the entire room, but also be practical. So, for example, it is better not to lay the carpet - the threads will constantly gather on it, and the paint that has accidentally got into it will be difficult to remove. Better to choose linoleum. It is easy to install, practical and easy to care for.

Layout

Now it remains the most convenient way to arrange all the necessary things and furniture. So, of course, the workplace should be arranged near the window. Naturally, the window must be insulated. The countertop can be made right on a par with the windowsill. Nowadays, the window sill itself can often serve as a tabletop, if it is expanded and additional support is installed. At least two or three sockets are needed near the workplace. Moreover, one can be level with the table top, and the others - under it.

Next to the workplace, there should certainly be shelves on the walls on both sides, or shelving. Or on one side - a wardrobe, on the other - a rack. Open shelves are necessary, as often a lot of small things should always be at hand. It is also very important to make drawers in the desktop.

If space permits, you should put another table - it will be possible to cut on it. And also to iron, lay out the future composition (product), and already on the desktop it will be stitched. A second closet will also come in handy. There can be stored fabric and finished works. If the room is for sewing, then you need to allocate a corner for trying on and a place for a mannequin. A mirror is also needed in the room. It can be located on one of the cabinet doors.

In the process of arranging a room for needlework, many of the nuances will become clear by themselves, however, the most important requirement is a convenient place for creativity, which would be conducive to work.
