Loose seed beads (lat. Tamarix laxa) - not the most common representative of the Tamarix genus of the Tamarix family. In culture, it is used infrequently as a shit, gpprimer, with branched beads or graceful beads. Other names - Tamariks loose, Grebenshchik loose. Natural habitats - the territory of Iran (northern part), Mongolia, China (north-western regions), as well as Russia (mainly near the Volga river).

Characteristics of culture

Loose seed beads are represented by rather large, highly branched shrubs and low-growing trees no more than 5 m high, bearing spreading branches of a green or bluish color. The foliage is alternate, simple, sessile, smooth, green, rhombic or oval-rhombic, with a pointed tip, located along the entire length of the branch. The flowers are small, up to 1 cm in diameter, pink, five-petal, collected in dense racemose inflorescences, which, in turn, flaunt in the apical panicles. The flowering of loose beads is abundant, lasts about 60-70 days. Fruits are dry capsules of brown or brownish-green color. Fruiting is annual, the seeds are not able to maintain germination for many years.

The species in question, like other representatives of the genus, is not too whimsical to soil conditions. It is also distinguished by high drought-resistant properties, for some time it is able to live without moisture. This species also tolerates saline soils, however, in such areas it blooms and does not develop as actively as we would like, moreover, it is often attacked by pests and affected by various diseases. Loose bead, it is also loose tamarix is suitable for landscaping gardens, it is mainly used to form large groups, less often used as single plantings.

In general, the species is winter-hardy, however, it hibernates without shelter only in the European part of Russia and southern regions. In the middle lane, cultivation is difficult, but with the provision of good cover, it is quite possible. By the way, most species, including loose beads, tolerate urban conditions without any particular problems, they are resistant to smoke and other negative phenomena. And the most important thing! The species easily tolerates a haircut, therefore, it is ideal for the formation of curly hedges. Loose beads are propagated by seeds (a rarely used method), green and lignified cuttings, offspring and segments, which are rooted in water at home.

Features of planting seedlings

In most cases, gardeners plant tamariks (beads) with seedlings purchased from nurseries. As a rule, such specimens quickly take root and, in the blink of an eye, are activated in growth. The only thing is that it is recommended to plant seedlings in well-lit areas, since the plants cannot stand a thick shade, in fact, they do not bloom on them, and in frequent cases they die. Similarly, seedlings, and adult plants, belong to waterlogged areas and lowlands with stagnant water and cold air.

They will not like loose beads on grounds with heavy soils, although growing is possible on condition of high-quality drainage. Planting of seedlings is carried out in the spring, planting pits are prepared in autumn or early spring (two weeks before the intended planting). This is required in order for the soil to settle. At the bottom of the pit, a mixture consisting of coarse sand and gravel must be poured, it will serve as drainage. A layer of humus is recommended on top, it will act as a fertilizer.

Immediately after planting, young plants require abundant watering; compliance with this condition will accelerate survival. Subsequent care consists of simple procedures - loosening the near-stem zone, moderate watering, weeding, shaping, sanitary and rejuvenating scraps. The latter is carried out as needed, if it is not carried out, the plant takes on an unsightly appearance.
