The biggest advantage of pelargonium is its unpretentiousness to the conditions of detention. The docile nature of the beauty, resistance to pests, diseases make her attractive not only for indoor, but also for street culture. How to achieve lush bloom?

Home care

During the period of active growth (spring-summer), plants require an increased content of nutrients in the soil. The intensity of flowering, the health of adult specimens depends on this. Once a month, they are fed with a complex fertilizer for indoor flowers. Water as the earthen coma dries up, preventing it from drying out.

As far as possible, plants are taken out into the open air. Install pots on ventilated verandas, gazebos, balconies, under a porch canopy.

Outdoor care

2 weeks before the "move" young people are taught to the conditions of open ground, leaving the seedlings for the day in the shade of trees. At night, they are taken back to the greenhouse or covered with non-woven material.

Pelargonium is planted outside when the morning frosts stop, with the onset of stable warm weather. Distances between adjacent bushes set 25-30 cm, in a square-nesting way. Evenly distributing individual specimens over the area.

When drawing up a certain pattern, the colors of the buds are taken into account. The wide arrangement in the flower beds allows plants to bush well, prevents ugly stretching of the stems.

For planting, they choose places with a light openwork shadow at midday, deep groundwater. When the aquifer is located close, arrange additional drainage at a depth of 25 cm from crushed stone, pebbles or expanded clay.

Peat, humus are added to the garden bed, sand is used as a baking powder. They dig shovels onto a bayonet, removing malicious weeds. Wells are formed, spilled with water. Bushes are planted from pots, keeping the soil level at the same level. Sprinkle with earth, crushing it around the roots.

The soil is mulched with sawdust, covering the evaporation of moisture. Timely watered in moderate doses, trying not to overmoisten the substrate. Particular attention is paid to dry periods, when plants require more frequent water feeding.

For better tillering, at the beginning of the season, pinch the ends of the shoots. The branches of especially valuable varieties remaining after the procedure can be rooted in a loose substrate, increasing the number of seedlings.

A week later, the new settlers start to grow, actively increasing the vegetative mass, forming a large number of buds. Once every 2-3 weeks, the plants are fed with a complex fertilizer "Zdraven" at the rate of a tablespoon without a slide on a bucket of water. During the season, the procedure is repeated three times.

Dried buds are promptly removed. With proper care, pelargonium pleases its owners with abundant flowering all summer until the very frost.

In the warm season, geraniums feel more comfortable outdoors than when kept indoors. The bushes grow luxuriantly in the wild, feeling complete freedom, a sea of light, large areas of earthen coma for root growth.

Content of mother liquors in winter

At the end of summer, uterine bushes are brought into the room. Gradually accustoming them to changes in the microclimate of the environment. Set on a sunny window, slightly shading the plants from direct rays at noon.

Keep geraniums separate from other flowers for 2 weeks. When pests and diseases are detected, they are treated with appropriate drugs. The defeat of pelargonium by harmful factors is extremely rare.

A week later, they are fed with a half dose of a compound fertilizer. In the autumn-winter period, further feeding is excluded. Plants go into relative dormancy until spring.

Watering is reduced to a minimum. Once every 7-10 days. To prevent the stems from stretching too much, a backlight is installed in the evening hours. If possible, the temperature is reduced to 15-16 degrees.
