Worsley belongs to the amaryllis family. This plant can be found at home quite rarely, and the genus itself consists of only one species, which is called noble hair. This plant is native to the tropical regions of eastern Brazil. In nature, vorslea is found exclusively on the sunlit slopes of the mountains, as well as on rocky soils located near waterfalls.

Description of vorsley

Like all other representatives of the amaryllis family, the hairslea has a rather large bulb. The height of a plant together with a flower in natural conditions can even reach several meters. The leaves of the plant are painted in green tones, and their length will be about ninety centimeters.

Vorsley is distinguished by its special decorativeness: the color of its flowers ranges from blue to deep dark blue. In this case, the size of the flowers in diameter will be about fifteen centimeters. Up to fifteen flowers can form on one peduncle of hairs.

At home, the flowering of this plant occurs in the summer period, however, under natural conditions, the hairs can bloom literally at any time.

Actually, due to its such beautiful flowering, this plant is especially popular with gardeners. However, vorslea is considered a very whimsical plant to care for, provided it is grown at home. It should also be noted that the cost of this plant is very high.

Care and cultivation of hairs

Vorsleia will require special growing conditions: it needs nutritious rocky soil, as well as an abundance of sun and constant moisture. It is believed that the plant is best kept in a winter garden, however, growing hairs at home on a southern window is also acceptable.

So, if you plan to grow hairs at home, then you will need to create certain conditions for this plant: excellent lighting, high humidity, as well as a nutrient medium and regular watering. It is also necessary to have good drainage, which will create the appearance of rocky slopes, where this plant lives in nature.

As for the temperature regime, it should be borne in mind that the homeland of Vorslei is distinguished by moderate temperatures, and at night there is a relative coolness. This plant tolerates especially hot temperatures extremely poorly. It will also be important to provide cool temperatures for the hairs during the night. In summer, it is recommended to move the plant to fresh air. It is noteworthy that the plant is able to survive with a short-term drop in temperature even to minus two degrees.

As already mentioned, high air humidity plays a huge role for the hairs.

Watering will be required regularly: about once a day. When the plant has a dormant period, it is recommended to reduce watering, however, in no case should the soil dry out.

The vorsley will need regular feeding, because the soil does not contain a sufficient number of nutrients. Top dressing at each watering in moderate doses is acceptable, as well as daily top dressing using complex fertilizer in its usual concentration.

It should be remembered that transplanting may be required very rarely for adult plants. The nap pot should not be very large, but it should be larger than its bulb. Reproduction of this plant, like other representatives of this family, occurs with the help of seeds, dividing the bulb and children.

In winter, the plant will need extremely moderate watering and coolness. However, the concept of the dormant period for hairs will directly depend on the conditions in which this plant is kept.
