After the seedlings of the vegetable crop in the form of pepper are planted in the open air, the right conditions for care should be created. Otherwise, the plant will be susceptible to all sorts of diseases and insect attack. As a result, the summer resident will simply lose the entire crop of pepper
How to care for pepper after planting in the ground in the first days?
As a rule, the timing of planting peppers in the open air varies in the border from the tenth to the thirtieth of May. At this moment, there is no longer any danger of getting under frost and low temperatures, and the soil at this time is already warmed up enough. But you still need to be on the lookout, since the cold has a very negative effect on the pepper. As a precaution, you can water the ground with warm water at a temperature of up to thirty-eight degrees and cover the plants with transparent film. Pepper bushes can only be opened when the weather is very warm, that is, in mid or late June. In the case of a decrease in temperature indicators below sixteen degrees, the peppers will begin to bloom a little later - a little less than a week and a half.
In general, this is a very capricious and demanding vegetable crop, since the pepper, after being planted in the ground, does not feel well at the time of temperature changes. Even during the summer season, the nights can be quite cold, which means that it is difficult to avoid this factor. But vegetable growers have found a way out of this situation. As soon as the sun sets, you should cover the garden with a single "Lutrasil". And many gardeners do not remove the polyethylene film from the beds at all, only periodically open it from the south or west. But at the end of August, in any case, the peppers will need to be covered with foil again.
After the seedlings of the vegetable crop are planted in the open air, it is necessary to give it a little time so that it adapts to certain conditions. This usually takes ten or twelve days. True, during these periods you can be frightened when you see the lethargy and painful appearance of the seedlings, and it will practically not grow. However, there is nothing wrong with that. After transplanting, the damaged roots of the pepper bushes will regenerate and try to take root in a new place. Of course, the summer resident can facilitate this process by slightly loosening the soil in the hole. But you need to loosen the ground not deeply, a maximum of five centimeters. As a result, fresh air will flow to the peppers, giving oxygen to the roots, as well as providing more comfortable conditions for engraftment in a new place.
In the first days after planting pepper seedlings in the open air, watering is required very carefully, avoiding waterlogging of the soil. Too weak roots can rot without coping with this amount of moisture. Dry soil is also bad for plants. Therefore, daily moistening of the soil in the area of the bush stalk would be the best option. One hundred and fifty milliliters of water is enough for each copy. Abundant watering should be carried out only after a week has passed from the moment the seedlings were planted in the garden.
How to water the peppers in the garden?
Before the first inflorescences begin to form on the plant, you need to water it about once for seven days. For one square meter of area, ten or a little more liters of water should be taken here. In case of heat and drought, you can increase the amount of watering up to twice a week.
When the plant is in the flowering or fruiting stage, watering is carried out by the root method. Their number depends on the conditions that the weather provides to the gardener. Approximately thirteen liters of water per square meter of land is sufficient. But if the summer resident can come to his garden only for the weekend, then the volume of water must be increased to sixteen liters, divided into two days (each for 8).
If the plants experience a moisture deficit and the air temperature is high, then the stem of the pepper bush may turn numb, and the leaves and buds fall off. Water for irrigation should be warm enough - twenty-five to thirty degrees. In the case of watering plants with cold water, they can begin to bear fruit later, and stop growing altogether. After each watering procedure, the soil should be loosened, destroying the upper crust. Otherwise, the roots may die, since there will be catastrophically little oxygen in them.
