Winter is not a reason to hibernate. At the dacha and in the garden, there are still important things to do that cannot be delayed. Especially when it comes to regions with unstable weather, where unexpected warm days are replaced by severe snowless frosts. So that work on the site does not turn into a cold and bring only positive emotions, you need to take care of purchasing a warm jacket. In this matter, not only the aesthetic component is important, but also the internal quality, namely the filler. What filler will keep you warm even at extremely low thermometer readings?
Fluff
Perhaps the best quality filler for winter jackets is down. Products made from it boast light weight, good water-repellent properties and the ability to retain heat for a long time. And down jackets can be called durable, of course, if they are properly cared for. Regular washing in an automatic machine is detrimental to products made of down, the filler is instantly driven into different corners of the stitching. It is recommended to take care of such products by dry cleaning. In this case, a down jacket will last at least 10 years.
Alpolux
Alpolux is a modern analogue of artificial down. He will easily compete for the first place between the currently popular isosoft and thinsulate (information about them below). In its composition, it does not contain harmful inclusions, but only natural sheep wool and microfiber. At the same time, the amount of sheep wool in the filler is often in the amount of 25-30% of the total weight. Alpolux is very lightweight, heat resistant, hypoallergenic and environmentally friendly. It is not for nothing that it is used when sewing children's products. Moreover, it meets all European standards. Like down, Alpolux is durable. Products made from it serve for years. And also alpolux jackets dry quickly and do not deform even when washed in an automatic machine.
Thinsulate
Thinsulate rightfully occupies a leading position among fillers, despite its artificial origin. In fact, it is a polyester fiber, twisted in a spiral and treated with silicone. It is this technology that allows the filler to collect heat and transfer it to the body. Thinsulate is characterized by lightness, resistance to frequent washing, warming even at -50C, hygienic and hypoallergenic. It is often used to make jackets, pants and overalls for sports and tourism. By the way, thinsulate jackets, when folded, take on small shapes and take up very little space in the closet. Even strongly crumpled, the filler quickly restores its former shape. Thinsulate products can be washed in an automatic machine, but they are recommended to dry only on a horizontal surface. Dry cleaning, in turn, is prohibited.
Isosoft
Isosoft, like the previous filler, is a new generation of insulation. It is also made from siliconized polyester fiber, but rolled into small balls. In addition to silicone, the fibers are coated with polymers, which increase the heat-insulating properties of the filler. Isosoft not only perfectly retains heat (by the way, it is not afraid of frosts down to -60C), but also allows air to pass through, thereby relieving the wearer of the so-called greenhouse effect. The filler is hypoallergenic, safe, easy to clean. It is machine washable. And by the way, it dries instantly.
Shelter
Shelter has just appeared in the jacket industry, but has already won the hearts of people who love winter sports and winter tourism. The filler is made of polyester fibers, which are directed in different directions, but at the same time firmly fixed at the points of contact. Thus, cells are formed that provide porosity and exclude the formation of lumps (including during washing). The filler is famous for its high heat-shielding properties, flexibility, elasticity, compactness, durability. There is no greenhouse effect when wearing jackets with a shelter.
