The ability to recover from plants from a separate part has long been used by gardeners all over the world. Vegetative cloning produces an exact copy of the original material. The Dahlem method of propagation by vertical layers is often used in practice. Air abduction is typical for amateur floriculture. Let's consider both methods in detail

Dahlem way

In early spring, after thawing and warming up the soil, the buds start to grow. With a shoot height of 20 cm, half of the stems are pulled at the base with a wire, a light transverse notch is made, and treated with a root. A square box without a bottom is placed on the bush with a side length of 50 cm and a height of 40 cm. For large plants, the dimensions of the frame are increased. The shoots are covered with humus of plant residues with the addition of sand in a layer of 10 cm.

A nutrient mixture is prepared from compost, garden soil, rotted manure in equal proportions, add 150 g of superphosphate, 300 g of bone meal. As the shoots grow, the gradually prepared earth is poured in layers. The total height of the embankment after a month is 30 cm. 4 cm peat mulch is laid on top to reduce the likelihood of crust formation. All summer they water the soil inside the box.

Reduce the drying out of the contents of the frame by hilling the container from the outside with a layer of garden soil.

Over the summer, the bushes are fed on the leaves with a complex fertilizer from Kemir, reducing the rate by 2 times. For better root formation, the soil is watered three times with a solution of heteroauxin with an interval of 2-3 weeks. Dissolve 2 tablets in a bucket. The buds are removed, leaving the maximum number of leaves.

In mid-September, the boxes are removed, the earth is shaken off from the bushes, the shoots are cut off below the wire. Stems with adventitious buds are planted in a school with light nutrient soil. The first 2 winters are covered with a layer of 6 cm of compost or peat. In the spring, after thawing, the shelter is removed.

You can reproduce the plant in this way in 2-3 years. This method is suitable for small areas with few plants.

Propagation by air layers

In May, before the buds bloom on the stem, closer to the ground, pull the base with copper wire, and make an incision above. Processed with root root. Cover with wet moss, fix a film on top, then a dark non-woven material. The shelter is tied with twine on both sides.

They monitor the moisture content of the substrate throughout the season, once a month, opening the packaging on one side. Moss the moss with a stimulant solution as needed. At the end of August, the shelter is removed. A shoot with good roots is cut off from the mother plant, planted in a garden bed for growing.

This technique is used exclusively in amateur gardens, with the reproduction of valuable, rare varieties. Its effectiveness is somewhat lower than that of the first three options.

Root cuttings

Root cuttings consist of 1-2 buds of renewal, a small piece of rhizome. The method helps to obtain a large amount of planting material of a rare variety. They finish work before the beginning of August in order to have time for rooting.

The basis of the method is similar to reproduction by dividing a bush. The difference lies in cutting the rhizome into the maximum possible number of pieces with a root of 3 cm.

Cuttings are planted under the film. The survival rate remains at the level of 80-85%. The underground part provides the sprout with nutrients to the best degree at the initial stage.

The planting scheme is square-nested with a distance of 15-20 cm. Cuttings are growing for 2 years. Young seedlings after the "school" are transferred to a permanent place.
