Do you have a summer house, but you only come there during the summer season? Have you ever thought about celebrating the New Year in a country house? After all, spending a family holiday with children closer to nature is much more interesting and fun than in an apartment
Pre-holiday revision of the cottage
For the holiday to be a success, you need to check if everything you need at the dacha is in good condition. Does the electricity, gas stove, fireplace work? Are there enough crockery and cutlery? You may need to stock up on water, firewood, bring bed linen, warm blankets.
A few days before the New Year celebrations, the house is wet cleaned. Before arriving, you need to heat the house well. They carefully examine the personal plot. Is it not necessary to remove snow at the gates or gates, to clear paths? All this should be done in advance.
New Year's decoration of the cottage
Children are attracted to decorate the house with New Year's symbols. Kids love to make crafts: make bright garlands, Christmas decorations, simple compositions of fir and pine branches, cones, nuts, candles, balls. Cut snowflakes together, glue paper lanterns, and decorate windows and walls with them.
Garlands for decorating a summer cottage can be made from any materials at hand. For this, cones, apples, tangerines, mountain ash and, of course, sweets and other sweets are suitable. To give the garland a chic New Year's feel, weave pine twigs into it. Decorate doorways, stair railings with them.
New Year in the country leaves more room for creativity than in an apartment. After all, you can festively decorate with New Year's decorations not only the interior of the house, but also garden furniture, a fence, a gazebo, paths. And together with the children, it can be turned into a fun game. Who said you can't make a snowman if it doesn't snow? For this, old pillows, which are probably stored in the attic, will do. In addition, you can dress up such a New Year's guest in a worn sweater and tie a scarf on it, it certainly won't freeze and won't melt!
Another beauty of celebrating the New Year outside the city is that almost any tree in your country house can take on the role of a Christmas tree. Of course, you can plant a pine, spruce or other evergreen tree in your area for this purpose. But if such an event is held for the first time and you have not taken care of the New Year tree in advance, decorate berry bushes and fruit trees with New Year's toys and serpentine.
Festive feast
It is unlikely that after decorating a house and a personal plot there will be time and effort to prepare intricate dishes. While you are at the dacha, take advantage of this to feast on potatoes baked in ash and barbecue grilled over coals. The most common pickles go well with this simple food - sauerkraut and canned cucumbers with tomatoes, pickled mushrooms, salted bacon.
Hot drinks will come in handy. After playing and working in the fresh air, you will want to warm up with a cup of aromatic tea.
Warm sweater instead of an evening dress
It just so happened that to celebrate the New Year we try to wear something new, smart, evening. However, there is an exception to this rule - New Year's Eve at the dacha. Celebrating the New Year close to nature, your family will surely spend a lot of time outside - playing snowballs or sledding with children, walking in the woods or sitting by the fire. Agree, it's inconvenient to do it in a dress. Therefore, before going to the country house, choose suitable clothes for yourself and your children: warm sweaters, vests, hats, scarves, uggs or felt boots, woolen socks, mittens.
Well, if the weather is not conducive to outdoor games, they can be arranged in the house near a warm stove. How long have you been going with your whole family to play forfeits or charades? The little ones will enjoy reading New Year's fairy tales by the fireplace.
Children do not have to wait until midnight to celebrate the New Year with their parents. It will be even better to put them to bed early so that Santa Claus has time to spread the presents until morning. After all, everyone knows that this most real northern wizard cannot enter the house until the child has fallen asleep. And how much joy the children will have when it turns out that the kind old man found them even at the dacha to bring such a long-awaited New Year's gift!
