The publications usually talk about mushrooms grown from mycelium. For those who do not like difficulties and go the simple way, we offer the option of growing from a wild mycelium, based on the experience of many generations

Choosing the "right" champignon

Since ancient times, a wild mycelium was taken for planting and planted near the house. Of course, in comparison with the yield of today's mushroom plantations, such cultivation is inferior, but the result will delight everyone. This is a great option for amateur breeding and does not baffle the search for mycelium.

There are many varieties of champignons, but not all are suitable for domestication. On an industrial scale, only double-stemmed champignon is bred, it reacts well to artificial conditions, so it is precisely its mycelium that needs to be found.

How to distinguish the dvuhporovy from other relatives that are unable to grow in cultivated conditions. Your task is to visit the territories adjacent to livestock farms or find places where rotten manure lies two or three years ago. These are your mushroom's favorite habitats. It does not grow on the soil next to manure, like other species, but on manure.

The body of a double boar can look different. Most often this variety has brownish scales on the cap, they can also be cream or whitish. By the way, field and snow-white varieties like to grow close to dung heaps. They can be distinguished by their intense pleasant aroma and the color of the break of the cap - it turns yellow or brown. Another "twin" - meadow champignon on the cut, it turns red and grows on pastures. Two-ring, similar, but very large, besides, it is difficult to confuse it with a double-ring because of the non-standard skirt. It is enough to consider the leg - there are two rings.

We are looking for mycelium

In search of planting material, you need to recover in the summer, when it gets colder, also during the period of prolonged rains. The impetus for the development of mycelium are wet days and not hot weather + 15 … + 17. Also, double-stemmed champignon can always be found in September-October and May.

So, you have found the mushrooms - start harvesting planting material. To do this, you must have a knife, scoop, basket or box / box with you. Remove the mushrooms, remove the top layer to the zone of the mycelium. This layer, due to the numerous interlacing of mushroom filaments, has a whitish appearance. The smell is bright with a pleasant mushroom note.

Gently pick up the desired pieces of mycelium with a scoop or knife. The diameter is usually 20 cm. Having put it in the prepared basket, we take it home. If you wish, you can take your time with planting, your mycelium can remain in a dried state for a month.

Cooking the ground for mushrooms

The planting is carried out into the substrate. It is done in the same way as when planting mycelium. This is compost with straw and enriched with dried manure. It is better if you have horse manure, if this is not possible, replace with pork, mullein or chicken droppings. Chalk, superphosphate, urea are added to this mixture.

It is advisable to cook in a high pile of 1.5 m, the length can be any, and the width is 2 m. All components are laid out in layers and watered. Over the course of three weeks, the compost is mixed several times. After the ammonia odor disappears, your substrate is ready. Place it in a growing container, maintaining a layer thickness of 25 cm, and place it on the shelves in the basement or cellar.

We plant champignons

Before planting, make holes with an interval of 15-20 cm and a depth of 5 cm. Divide the mycelium into pieces similar in size to a walnut. Place in the prepared holes, cover, compact slightly. After planting, cover the ground with paper or a thin natural cloth. Periodic wetting of this coating will prevent the substrate from drying out.

Within 15-20 days, the mycelium grows, so after three weeks the coating is removed, the surface is sprinkled with peat with the addition of dolomite flour. The layer is made in 3 cm. The highest fees will be when grown in favorable conditions + 15 … + 16. Fruiting lasts 2 months. If there is no subfloor, basement, vegetable store, then you can grow mushrooms on the street, in a shaded place.

The collection is carried out exclusively of young bodies, until the "coverlet" under the cap is revealed. The spent substrate is not reused. It is an excellent fertilizer, balanced in acidity, without weeds, rich in nitrogen, potassium, phosphorus.
