Breeders have tamed the ubiquitous weed, which has its own name in every locality. The main name is "Aistnik". Low-growing, rapidly growing and abundantly blooming throughout the summer season, the plants especially took root in rock gardens
Rod Stork
More than eight dozen species of herbaceous plants represent the genus Stork (Erodium) of the Geranium family. Some live only a year, others stretch the full cycle of their development for two years, and there are perennial plants that gardeners use to decorate their flower beds. Unpretentiousness and resistance to the vagaries of nature add to their popularity.
The height of different species ranges from 15 to 50 centimeters, which suits lovers of alpine slides and rocky gardens. The branching plant is covered with beautiful feathery leaves, or small lobed leaves with a serrated edge, resembling geranium leaves.
Single or gathered in umbrella-shaped inflorescences, the flowers are charming with their graceful simplicity. The five delicate petals can be white, pink, red, lilac or purple with a light spot in the center. Abundant flowering lasts from May to August.

Stork choppy (Erodium x variabile) - the child of two storks: Reichard and Corsican. The flowers are white and all kinds of shades of pink.
Growing
Storks love sunny places. They tolerate freezing temperatures well, excluding the Corsican stork.
The soil is needed loose, rich in decomposed organic matter. They require regular watering, but do not like stagnant water. Watering the seedlings is combined with mineral feeding.
To facilitate growth, highly branching species are pinched in the spring.
Storks are disease resistant.
Reproduction
It can be propagated by seeds, but to preserve varietal characteristics it is safer to use apical cuttings, which are harvested in early spring.
After removing the lower leaves from the cutting, they are planted in containers filled with sand and peat in a 1: 2 ratio. After a month and a half, the rooted cuttings are planted in personal pots, planted in open ground in the fall.
