She is in no hurry to reach for the sun, having seen over hundreds of millions of years how taller and more powerful-looking plants and animals have irrevocably disappeared from the face of the Earth. And those who did not strive to be heroic, to demonstrate ambition, adapted to new conditions, continuing to give life to life on a unique planet. Interestingly, representatives of the genus
Tsikas belong to gymnosperms. This means that for hundreds of millions of years, the palm tree has not learned to hide the seeds in which the continuation of the genus is laid, taking an example from others, hiding and protecting their future with capsules, pods, pulp or an impenetrable knuckle. However, such a defenselessness of the seeds did not prevent the cicassus from surviving to this day.

As an ornamental plant, two types are used: drooping cicas and curled cycads.
Tsikas drooping
The drooping cicas (Cycas revoluta) is sometimes called the "Unturned cicas" for the rosette of its sweeping leaves drooping to the ground. Large, slightly pointed pinnate leaves are formed by many pointed linear leaves, tenaciously holding on to the stem. Stems of leaves gradually form a cylindrical thick stem-trunk, raising its spreading openwork crown to a height of up to three meters.
Tsikas is a dioecious plant, with a clear division into male and female responsibilities in procreation. The sedentary flowers form an inflorescence that sits snugly in the center of the leafy rosette. With the help of intermediaries, semi-fleshy reddish seeds are born from pollinated female flowers, which are even eaten.
Cycad curled
The slow-growing Cycad curled or cochlear (Cycas circinalis), which moved to our region from India, is less resistant to cold, and therefore it is less often found in our open spaces.
Growing
The elegant look of the cicada or drooping cycad attracts the attention of aesthetes, who are happy to purchase large flower pots or modern, comfortable and beautiful planters to place slowly growing palm trees in them.
Tubs are placed in a lighted or semi-shaded place, filled with a special well-drained soil, in which the acquired miracle is placed. The cost of seedlings depends on their size, but in any case is quite high.
Those who, nevertheless, managed to acquire an overseas miracle in property, should regularly feed the gentleman with mineral fertilizers so that the money is not spent in vain.
The optimum air temperature for the successful growth of a cycad ranges from 15 to 18 degrees.
As for watering, here you must always be on the lookout so as not to overdo it with water, but maintain a constant moist state of the soil.

Reproduction
I doubt that someone will propagate cicas with seeds, although this option is possible. It is much easier to carry out such a process by separating young shoots from the trunk, rooting them in light soil, placing containers with shoots in a cool room without drafts.
