Aloe is not only a popular houseplant, but also a real home first aid kit that will help out with cuts and burns, severe coughs and inflammation, as well as many other ailments. How can you use aloe for healing?
How to collect medicinal raw materials
Aloe belongs to succulent plants and the juice of its thick fleshy leaves has healing power. You can collect medicinal raw materials in different ways. When a large volume of medicine is being prepared, the large plant is cut off completely. The optimum age of the plant is about 3 years. And when your "tree" is already 5 years old, it is recommended to extract juice not only from the leaves, but also from the stem. To do this, grind it with a knife - preferably a ceramic one - and squeeze the juice with gauze.
There are many recipes with aloe. And it is not always possible to foresee what will be needed in each specific case. Therefore, when it turns out to extract aloe juice a lot, a liter or more, they have adapted to "canning" it. To preserve the beneficial qualities of the agave, its juice must be mixed with alcohol in proportions 1: 1 or with vodka - 2 parts of vodka to 1 part of juice.
And if you need very little juice (to drip your nose, make a compress or treat a wound), you can just break off one leaf. In this case, you need to begin to separate the large lower leaves from the trunk together with a film so that juice does not stand out from them. Another trick that will help to remove a couple of leaves without difficulty is not to water the flower for about a week before such a procedure. For those who actively use aloe for medicinal and cosmetic purposes, you can see a noticeably “bald” plant from below with a lush sultan of leaves on top.
In emergencies, aloe juice can be used immediately. But if the plant is used not in haste, when a runny nose or a wound fester, but "on a planned basis," then it is better to let the leaves gain their full healing power. To do this, they are wrapped in paper or cloth and sent for three days to a refrigerator or basement. After that, the leaves are washed in clean water to remove dust, cut and squeeze the juice from the pieces through cheesecloth.
Aloe juice recipes
One of the most popular and widely used recipes is the mixture of aloe juice with honey and Cahors wine. This is an excellent general tonic. It is also indispensable in the season of colds, especially if coughing with bronchitis excruciates. To prepare a healing drink you will need:
• aloe juice - 200 g;
• honey - 300 g;
• wine - 350 g.
This medicinal "cocktail" is infused in a dark place at room temperature for about 5-7 days. For medicinal purposes, take 1 table. spoon three times a day before meals. For a lasting effect, it is recommended to withstand the course of treatment for at least 3 weeks.
Another blank for the treatment of bronchitis is prepared according to this recipe:
• aloe juice - 15 g;
• baked lard or goose fat - 100 g;
• butter - 100 g;
• honey - 100 g.
A tablespoon of this mixture is placed in a glass of hot milk. The drink is consumed twice a day. For a more pleasant taste, 50 g of cocoa can be added to the blank, among other ingredients.
Pure aloe juice is used for dysentery, constipation. To do this, drink 2 teaspoons. spoons three times a day half an hour before meals.
For compresses and lotions, aloe juice is used in the treatment of burns, osteomyelitis with purulent foci, trophic ulcers. The wounds are quickly cleared, the renewed epithelium is better formed.
Contraindications for the use of aloe juice
Despite all the usefulness of this plant, like that of another medicine, it also has its own contraindications. It is not recommended to be treated by an agave for those who are prone to bouts of diarrhea, since aloe has a laxative effect. Also, you should not use the juice for liver and gallbladder diseases, kidney and bladder diseases, cardiovascular ailments. You can not use aloe as a medicine for pregnant women, as well as women with heavy periods and other uterine bleeding. Another limitation is bleeding hemorrhoids.
