Planting seedlings requires competent actions and preliminary preparation. Read on for details on creating optimal conditions for full growth and further fruiting

Greenhouse preparation

The grown seedlings are placed in a greenhouse when no return of frost is expected. Usually they use the interval from May 5 to May 15, when the temperature is still cool, especially at night. Additional insulation helps to avoid hypothermia. A small greenhouse is covered with a second layer of film, leaving a small gap between the layers (air gap) of 2-3 cm. This will reduce the cooling of the greenhouse and increase the service life of the main layer. Additional coating is removed when the temperature is stable (June 1-5). The second method is to install arcs over the ridge, on which a non-woven or film is thrown overnight.

Tomatoes need through ventilation, this eliminates the possibility of pollen sterilization, promotes the formation of ovaries during flowering. The greenhouse must be actively ventilated. Be sure to make vents or doors on both sides. It is also advisable to have one or two openable transoms at the top.

Advice. In order to avoid the progression of diseases, it is not recommended to constantly plant tomatoes in the same greenhouse. An annual alternation with pepper, eggplant is necessary. For example, one season is tomatoes, the second is pepper. If this is not possible, a change of the top layer (10-12 cm) or treatment of the soil and internal structure with special preparations is required. It is advisable to shed the earth with a hot solution of copper sulfate (100 ° C) before planting. For cooking, you need to take 1 tbsp for 10 liters. l. powder.

Preparing the beds

The height of the beds in the greenhouse is observed within 30-40 cm. The width is chosen depending on the size of the greenhouse, approximately 60-80 cm. The passage is comfortable - 60-70 cm. The bed must be ready 5-10 days before disembarkation.

On loam and clay add a bucket of peat (1 sq. M.), - distillate, - sawdust. On peat soil, add a bucket of turf, sawdust, humus and half a bucket of sand. And also per sq. meter 3 tbsp. l. superphosphate (granular double), 1 tbsp. l. potassium sulfate, nitrate or urea (1 tsp). The acidity is removed with ash or dolomite flour (2-3 glasses).

Experts recommend spilling each well (1-1.5 l) with a saturated solution of manganese before planting. A good result for the development of seedlings is given by preliminary watering the beds with hot mullein infusion (liter capacity for a 10-liter bucket). Distributed 4-5 liters per sq. meter.

Transplanting

The best time to board is evening. An hour before the start of work, the cups are watered abundantly, this contributes to good extraction of the coma without trauma to the roots. Non-overgrown seedlings (25-35 cm) are placed in the holes vertically without deepening. For tall plants, a horizontal slope is made, that is, the seedlings are laid half-lying, leaving no more than 40 cm above the surface. Before that, when the clod with roots is freed from the cup, you need to cut off the lower leaves.

A stem buried in the ground will give roots in a couple of weeks and will be an additional nourishment for the plant. When planting tall varieties, they should be placed in a staggered arrangement with a pitch of 60 cm between holes.

Care of tomato seedlings

Tomatoes will need support 10-12 days after the planting event. Twine garters are made to the wire stretched over the bed. The height should be sufficient 1, 8-2 meters. It is better to use synthetic / polyethylene twine. Natural felt fiber retains moisture and promotes stem rot. The plant is fixed by wrapping the stem as it grows around the stretched rope. You can use pegs, metal pipes for support.

Plants form into one stem, exceptions are rare, which is available on the seed packet. All stepchildren (shoots between leaves) that have reached a length of 8 cm are removed. To prevent infection, it is recommended not to cut, but to break the process to the side, in this case the plant sap will not get on the fingers. The column must be kept at 2-3 cm. It is better to carry out such an "operation" in the morning, as there is increased fragility.

With a large distance between the seedlings, you can leave the lower stepson and grow in two stems, only 2-3 brushes are allowed to form on the secondary cutting, then pinch the crown. On the main stem in the middle lane, 7-8 brushes have time to ripen.
