Licorice smooth is a perennial herb, the height of which reaches one and a half meters. Such a plant will be endowed with a fairly powerful root system. Stems of licorice smooth are unbranched, and the leaves, in turn, will be pinnate with eleven to fifteen leaflets, and such leaves are alternate and covered with sticky hairs. The flowers of this plant are collected in a brush, they are painted in blue-violet tones and are very decorative.

The flowering of licorice naked falls on the month of June. The fruit of this plant is a brown leathery bean. in natural conditions, in the wild, this plant can be found in Central Asia, the North Caucasus and the southeast of the European part of the former Soviet Union. Description of the medicinal properties of licorice smooth

Smooth licorice is endowed with very valuable medicinal properties, while for medicinal purposes it is recommended to use the roots of this plant. The presence of such valuable healing properties should be explained by the content of malic acid, traces of essential oil, starch, gum, bitterness, sucrose, tannins, asparagine, glucose, mannitol, bittersweet glycoside glycyrrhizin and glycoside liquiditin in the roots of this plant.

Preparations based on the roots of licorice smooth are indicated for use as anti-inflammatory, enveloping, antiallergic and expectorant agents. Such very effective healing agents should also be used for various diseases of the upper respiratory tract, especially for the elderly and children.

Licorice root is used for systemic lupus, enterocolitis, increased acidity of gastric juice, pemphigus, peptic ulcer, chronic gastritis and various allergic dermatitis. It is noteworthy that the roots of this plant are present in the composition of the breast elixir. This drug is used as an expectorant: it is taken several times a day, twenty to forty drops. As for children, the number of drops is given to them according to the number of years.

In addition, licorice root is also present in the composition of diuretic tea. Also, the root extract of this plant is quite suitable for making pills, and syrup based on licorice root is used to correct the taste in various potions.

It is recommended to use the following remedy based on this plant as an antiallergic, expectorant, anti-inflammatory and enveloping agent: to prepare such a drug, you will need to take one tablespoon of smooth licorice root and pour it in a thermos with one full glass of boiling water. After that, the resulting medicinal mixture should be left to infuse for about three to five hours, then this mixture based on smooth licorice must be filtered very carefully. Take the resulting drug based on this plant one full tablespoon three to four times a day, regardless of food intake. Provided that it is used correctly, this remedy based on smooth licorice will be very effective, and the positive result will be noticeable quite quickly.
