Under natural conditions, camellias are rather large shrubs or even trees with a loose-type crown, which can grow even several meters. However, at home, not every grower will lubricate such a culture

But with proper care and care for the camellia, it will delight its owner with a beautiful flowering in the winter season. Of course, if you have knowledge of the characteristics and properties of the plant, thereby creating comfortable conditions for its development, you can observe the rapid flowering of the camellia and its good development even at home. Experienced flower growers very often grow camellia at home and take proper care of it. In turn, the camellia feels comfortable, responding to the owner in return and forming a mass of inflorescences, delighting him and his guests with its attractiveness every year.

Features of the camel and her care

Around the world, there are about several thousand varieties and varieties of beautiful camellias. They differ from other flower cultures for their charming and unforgettable appearance. It is possible to compare the shape and splendor of the camellia only with a plant such as a garden rose. Camellia leaves have a smooth surface and leathery texture. At the same time, their color is deep green, and the shape looks like a geometric shape of an ellipse with pointed edges. Leaves are attached to the shoots with short cuttings. Even one glance at the camellia will cause indescribable delight in any person. But, behold, it will be very hard to make sure that such a wonderful flower does not die. This requires specialized care during cultivation in a room setting. It is necessary to create conditions that are as close to natural as possible.

Not very hot temperature indicators are provided in the summer season, cool air in the winter season, always high humidity in the room, soil with a large amount of nutrients, resistance to the scorching sun and harsh drafts. If all such conditions are met, the care and cultivation of the flower will be fine. And the plant itself will reciprocate the florist, extending its flowering period to four months.

Camellia care and cultivation

There are really many features of the camellia. She is able to withstand frosts as much as minus five degrees. And at a temperature of ten degrees Celsius, the shrub can bloom, practically not having a dormant stage. The plant performs the decorative function during all twelve months of the year. But in fact, keeping a camellia at home is not so easy. After all, it is very, very difficult to create conditions in an apartment that are as close as possible to natural conditions. In order for the camellia to bloom, the house needs a closed terrace, balcony or loggia. First of all, this is due to the fact that the flowering of camellia occurs precisely in the winter season, and the green parts begin to grow in the early spring season.

Lighting for camellias during the day must be provided for twelve to fourteen hours. This factor does not depend on the time of year, and such a condition must always be observed. However, the plant is very capricious and reacts not very readily to direct rays of the sun. Therefore, if the plant is located on the southern windowsills, it is necessary to create a little shading. But even on the northern side, the plant will not feel comfortable, since here its shoots will immediately stretch out, and the leaves will become small and pale. In autumn, it is necessary to install artificial lighting, since there is practically no sun on such days.

In summer and spring, camellia can be grown at normal room temperature, but by autumn the warm air in the apartment is quite harmful for this culture. Therefore, it is best to transfer the camellia to a loggia with glass or to a warm balcony so that the air temperature is about twelve to fifteen degrees. Proper care and cultivation of camellia will ensure the appearance of a huge number of buds. The flowering of the shrub begins in the winter season and continues until the temperature drops below ten degrees of cold.
