Peppers are planted very often in dachas and vegetable gardens. Gardeners love it for its attractive taste and useful properties, since the vegetable contains a large number of various vitamins and minerals. In the modern world, there are about two thousand different varieties of pepper
However, for such a vegetable as pepper, special care and cultivation are needed. In principle, this is not a big problem for experienced gardeners. However, in order to obtain high yields, it is also necessary to select the right variety, depending on the climate, conditions and type of cultivation. Despite the fact that the whole process from planting to harvesting is laborious and painstaking, proper care of vegetables will provide the summer resident with an excellent harvest.
If there is no greenhouse on the site, then you can first sow seeds in small and shallow containers. This is necessary so that the seeds have time to germinate before the seedlings are transplanted to open ground. In general, pepper is a capricious and demanding vegetable, which is why gardening experts advise planting this crop in pots with a small diameter and peat type. The soil itself in this case should be light and airy. You should also immediately loosen it up and add the required amount of humus.
Even before the summer resident plants the pepper in the open air, special processing is required, for which you need to place the seeds of the culture in a container with water, the temperature of which should reach up to fifty degrees. The processing itself lasts about five hours. After removing the seeds from the containers, they should be placed on a damp cloth rag, where they need to lie for three days. The air temperature in the room should not be lower than twenty degrees Celsius. If the process is carried out correctly, after a day you can see the first shoots. After the vegetables are planted in the ground, abundant watering is required. Next, you will need to cover the plants with foil or glass. When the first shoots of pepper appear, you need to begin to closely monitor the air temperature. Ideally, if in the daytime it will be twenty-five to twenty-eight degrees, and at night, at least ten. The watering procedure should be sufficient for the plant, but excess moisture can harm the pepper, provoking the formation of certain diseases. But dryness of the soil will also have a very negative effect on the plant. It is best to irrigate with warm water with a temperature of about thirty degrees. Cold water during watering can weaken the plant.
Be sure to observe the optimal temperature regime. Also, the humidity in the room where the peppers germinate should be at a normal rate, since dry air can harm the plant. The room should always be ventilated, and spraying of seedlings should be carried out regularly. Lighting is also important for the proper cultivation of peppers. During the first month of crop growth, you need to provide a normal flow of light from approximately six in the morning until eight in the evening. Also, before planting seedlings, you need to harden it, gradually accustoming it to cool air. In addition, the pepper should be prepared for heat, rainfall and strong winds. To do this, the container with seedlings must be exposed to the open air, each time increasing the time spent outdoors. But it is dangerous to expose the plant to frost and temperatures below thirteen degrees.
How are hot peppers planted?
When planting hot pepper in the ground, you need to plant it separately from varieties of sweet vegetables. This is necessary because the fruit will taste bitter during the pollination procedure. In the event that the gardener uses the method of planting seedlings in pots, it is required to ensure that the stem is at the same level as in the container. The plant is planted from the ground about three or four centimeters. In addition, it is required to ensure that the leaves are not covered with soil. The procedure is carried out in the evening. To do this, the summer resident makes small holes, where he puts a small amount of water. After planting, the seedlings will need to be watered again, so they will quickly take root in a certain type of land. If frosts can still occur, then the plants are covered with foil.
How are bell peppers planted?
Sweet peppers will grow quickly and well if you follow all the rules for planting them. As a care, it is necessary to carry out procedures such as watering, loosening, feeding in a timely manner. Tracking the temperature regime of the soil will allow you to get high-quality fruits in large quantities. The distance between the rows of seedlings should be fifty centimeters. Watering is done when the first green fruits appear, the seedlings are planted in the soil in the open air, after the first harvest.
