Cyclamen

The peculiarity of cyclamen is that it blooms only in winter. The life of this plant is divided into two stages - the period of flowering, active growth and development and the end of flowering, when the culture is gaining as much nutrients as possible until the next flowering. That is, in summer this plant is practically inactive

They contain cyclamen at home, but there is a problem that the plant needs a cool air temperature. In order for the plant to actively grow and develop, the daytime temperature should not be higher than fifteen degrees, and the nighttime temperature should not exceed twelve degrees. If the temperature readings are higher, then the plant will immediately stop blooming and will cease to be in a state that is comfortable for it.

This culture is best placed on the windowsills on the east side. He needs light very bright, but at the same time diffused. Do not allow direct sunlight to hit it, as cyclamen can get burned.

Such a flower under no circumstances will be able to live where there is periodically tobacco smoke. Clean air is required for it. On no account should a draft fall on the cyclamen, and this plant should not be kept near hot and even warm radiators. In winter, to add moisture to the air, you need to place a container of water next to the flower.

It is necessary to water this plant with a peculiarity and in a timely manner. It is not necessary for the water to fall on the leaves and tuber of the plant. The surface layer of the earth should dry out a little before the grower starts watering. Cyclamen welcomes the constant watering of large quantities of water, but only after the soil has become dry. However, overdoing it is not worth it. Constant humidity and a large amount of water will not lead to anything good. Thus, there is a possibility that the root system or the tuber of the plant itself will begin to rot.

The flower should be fed at the moment when it began to bloom and is in the stage of active growth. This procedure must be performed twice a month. It should be fed with the usual complex fertilizer for indoor plants. It must be added to a container of water in which the moisture for irrigation is prepared. You shouldn't overuse fertilizers either. This can lead to the fact that the plant may stop blooming at some point.

The flowering period of cyclamen is three to four months. Then, if conditions permit, the plant acquires calmness and rest. As a result, the petals begin to turn yellow, and the updated flowers do not appear yet. After a while, the leaves dry out. For this period, watering the cyclamen should be gradually reduced until all the yellowed leaves are completely dry.

Watering at this time is rarely required and with a very small volume of water, only slightly moistening the soil in the pot. It is advisable to relocate the flower to a place where there is a constant shade and a cooler air temperature. During this time, the plant lives off the root system.

In the summer, cyclamen can be transplanted into a pot that is slightly larger in comparison with the previous container by the method of dragging. This plant needs to be replanted once every two years. When transplanting cyclamen, it is necessary that the tuber is above ground level. After the plant is transplanted, watering should be postponed for ten or even twelve days in order for the tuber to be better preserved. Fresh leaves begin to form in early autumn. The plant must be placed in a brighter place, but where it is cool. Watering the crop should be started gradually as early as possible.

Cyclamen can be propagated using a tuber or seeds. Dividing the tuber into several parts is a rather risky option for the life of the flower. Therefore, seeds are most often used. In order for the seeds to be of high quality, you need to contain about four such cyclamens. When the plant begins to bloom, it is required to transfer pollen with great care with a brush from one flower on the stigma of another.

Cyclamen is not a particularly capricious plant, but requires individual care. And nevertheless, cyclamen conquers florists with its exquisite beauty during flowering and does not provide any inconvenience to care. Each plant has its own character and characteristics for carrying out the necessary procedures. Cyclamen is one of the indoor, not very whimsical plants, which just needs a certain temperature and special watering.
