After all, it was at this time that the shelves of flower shops generously offer customers a large selection of amazing, but rather capricious plants.
How not to be mistaken when buying Cyclamen in a store
In order for a purchase or a gift to please the gifted person not for a couple of weeks, but for several years, one must be very careful when choosing a flower pot with a delicate bouquet among the store's abundance.
• Flowers in shops, as a rule, are sold in small pots, providing for further transplantation of the plant into the master's pot. If, with its small dimensions, the pot seems heavy to you, it means that the flower was generously watered by sellers who do not know that excess moisture for the roots of cyclamen is destructive. It is better to set such a pot aside.
• In order for the plant to easily transfer the transplant to another container and successfully take root in it, it is necessary to examine the state of its root system. To do this, you just need to lift the pot and evaluate the roots peeking out through the drainage holes. Young firm white roots will tell you about a healthy plant that you can safely buy.
• The tuber should be immersed in the soil as little as possible, and also be hard to the touch.
• A healthy flowering plant with firm leaves. In the center of the flower rosette, they are red and burgundy. The presence of weeping or dry spots on the leaves indicates the unhealthy of the flower.
• The more unblown buds on the plant, the more viable and healthy the tuber, the more chances it will give the flower a long life after transplantation.

Cyclamen transplant process
The successful future of cyclamen is not provided only by a good choice in the store and its safe transportation to a new place of residence. In order for the plant to delight you with its amazing flowers for a long time, you still have to work a little, transplanting it into a pot prepared for this.
The main thing is not to delay the transplant. The longer the plant stays in a store pot in the embrace of wet peat, the less chances it will have a long life.
It is important to clear the roots of peat, since its moisture capacity differs from the moisture capacity of the prepared soil mixture for planting and can play a cruel joke with the plant, accelerating its death. By the way, this applies not only to cyclamen, but also to other purchased plants when they are transplanted into another soil.
Having shaken off from the roots what will crumble without difficulty, we lower the lump in warm water and leave it alone for half an hour. After soaking, with great care, wash off the remaining lumps of peat under a weak stream of the water tap.
At the bottom of the pot chosen for planting (which, after evaluating the peeled roots, may turn out to be three times less than the store bought with a flower), we lay a layer of expanded clay and prepared soil. It should be loose, breathable and moisture-permeable.
We mercilessly remove the lower leaves from the transplanted plant, because with any, even the most careful transplant, the roots are injured, and the many leaves will be an unnecessary burden for them, increasing the evaporation of moisture.
Since the planted roots have not yet had time to dry out after washing them, you should not water the flower after planting. The first watering can be done in a couple of days, and it should not be plentiful. Subsequently, watering must also be treated with caution. Pour water at the root, without touching the leaves and flowers. Immediately remove excess water from the pan so as not to create conditions for root decay.
The best place for a flowerpot with cyclamen is on the northern windowsill, closer to the coolness coming from the window panes.
