Everyone loves strawberries - both children and adults. Strawberries are quite whimsical to care for, they need constant attention and regular preventive measures that will avoid a number of extremely unpleasant diseases that threaten your harvest

The first important and very dangerous disease will be the so-called strawberry anthracnose. Such a disease can affect the entire plant, this disease is literally ubiquitous. Outwardly, the disease manifests itself as follows: small round spots appear on the leaves, their diameter is about three millimeters. These spots will be gray in the middle and have a purple border around them. As for the stems, gray spots and small deep sores appear, which will also be surrounded by a purple border. In the case when the disease is widespread, the spots merge into one, and the stems themselves are covered with brown tissue. Actually, all this leads to the death of shoots. The affected berries will dry up, and the fruit clusters will die off along with the still unripe berries. The causative agent of such a disease can overwinter on diseased shoots. The disease develops especially massively during wet weather in both spring and summer.

As for preventive measures, here you should choose extremely healthy seedlings for planting. As soon as the first signs of the disease become visible, appropriate chemicals should be used to prevent massive spread of the disease.

Another dangerous disease is white rot. The disease will affect not only the leaves, but also the berries themselves. Diseased leaves initially begin to brighten, and over time they dry out. In wet weather, not only leaves will rot, but also diseased berries. Diseased leaves and berries are covered with a white bloom. Actually, this is the mycelium, which in the summer takes over the functions of reproduction of this fungus. The fungus tolerates winter perfectly, and the next season the disease can attack the plants again and again. The optimal conditions for the development of such a disease are damp and cool weather. In particular, densely planted plantations are at risk.

In order to prevent such diseases, only healthy plants should be selected for seedlings. Such a disease rarely attacks plants in greenhouses, but this option also cannot be ruled out. As soon as the first signs of this disease are noticeable, spraying should be carried out using a drug such as "Derosal".

A very dangerous disease is called white spot. During the period of flowering and ripening of berries, a particular spread of such a disease is observed. Sometimes this disease can completely rob you of the desired harvest. The disease manifests itself on leaves, petioles, peduncles and sepals. Small rounded spots appear here, painted in purple or reddish-brown tones. Over time, these spots reach a diameter of eight centimeters, in the center they acquire a white color, complemented by a purple or dark red edging. Favorable conditions for the rapid course of this disease are wet weather, frequent watering, thickened beds and excess organic fertilizers.

As for preventive measures, then, first of all, the seedlings should be carefully selected: they must be completely healthy. In the autumn period of time, you can spray this plant with a preparation called "Ordan", and in the spring, other preparations will do, for example, "Falcon". Actually, it should be noted that the selection of healthy seedlings will become very important in the fight against many diseases. This way you can minimize the risk of a number of diseases.
