The long-awaited summer has come. Warm weather, bright sun. Berries and vegetables ripen in the garden. The variety of flowering plants pleases the eye. This year, the opening dates for the first buds have moved a month earlier. Let's talk about the brightest representatives of the wonderful world
Primroses
Small cute bushes took over the flowering relay from crocuses, woodlands, snowdrops. The palette of colors is so diverse that an ornament of a bright Persian carpet with bizarre patterns is obtained on the flower bed. It is almost difficult to find two identical copies. Each plant tries to show itself in all its glory, to surprise with unusual colors.
Small specimens are striking in their original pattern. A yellow center, a red edge in the center of each petal, a white stripe is drawn, and a border of creamy small dots completes the picture. One gets the impression that an invisible artist has swung his brush, and the result is a magnificent masterpiece.
Phlox
The old variety of lilac phlox, inherited from our grandmother, pleased us with its flowering in the second decade of June. Usually, the buds begin to bloom in mid-July. For two weeks he flaunted in splendid isolation, increasing the size of his "hats". He was supported by modern varieties Success, Zaryadye, Selena, Alexandra, Rumyany, Windsor was the last to open. A bright palette of colors, a wonderful aroma spread throughout the garden.
Most modern novelties have repair capabilities. The first wave of flowering with a short period of calm, is replaced by new buds and continues until September.
Lilies
An amazing variety of lilies: miniature, large, with curls - strikes the eye with variegated colors. The Helou President variety reaches a diameter of 17 cm. Saturated yellow, glossy petals shine in the sun. One gets the impression that they are covered with a thin layer of varnish. The rigid structure does not break under strong raindrops or wind gusts.
The Triumphant hybrid in the foreground belongs to the LO group (Longiflorum Orientale), justifies its name by the huge dimensions of the "gramophones". It combines a tubular structure and good winter hardiness. Adult specimens look especially impressive. Dark crimson strokes extending from the center of the petal on a white background add brightness and solemnity to the inflorescences. A wonderful, delicate aroma fills the garden in the evening.
Echinacea
I was surprised this year by the early blooming of terry echinacea buds. At the end of June, the first inflorescences appeared. First, the outer long petals come out, the middle remains brown. Gradually, it fills with short bright petals, turning into ice cream, a ball-shaped ice cream. The fluffy center attracts bees and butterflies. Everyone wants to feast on the sweet nectar of a beautiful plant.
Echinacea blooms all summer long until the frost. Sometimes you wonder why the bushes have so much strength to form a huge number of buds?
Daylilies
Large peduncles of various colors and shapes give special charm to daylilies. The varieties with white rays in the center of the petal, with a corrugated border around the edge, look spectacular. The yellow base gives the impression of an inner, solar glow from the depths of the flower. Nature has generously endowed daylilies with a bright palette, breeders have intensified the combination of individual elements in one copy.
Huge inflorescences of "spiders" are striking in their size. Their diameter often reaches 20 cm or more. Here is Cameroon Night with a cherry velvety surface of long petals. The glossy surface shines in the sun. Each bud blooms for just one day. It is worth catching this moment to enjoy the extraordinary "spectacle".
