Probably, many will agree that the most difficult time in a mom's life is the first years of her baby's life. Especially when this is her first experience of motherhood. Everything that was read in books, learned in courses or received in the form of advice from his mother is embodied in reality. And here, as with higher education, there are nuances, since theory often diverges from practice
When your baby is two years old, he already knows a lot. This is a "little adult" who actively expresses his feelings and emotions. It is at the age of 2 that the baby is maximally prepared for acquiring new knowledge and actively shows what he likes and what does not.
At the same time, more and more stable signs of independence appear. The child masters his first cutlery, tries to wash and dress himself.
It is then that the mother begins to potty train the baby. This process takes from several weeks to months. At first, the baby may be capricious and afraid. Therefore, mom needs to be patient and wait for the moment when her baby understands why he needs a pot. Getting used to the pot is also helped by the baby's desire to go big in time, "caught" by the mother. As soon as you notice that the baby wants to go to the toilet (he may freeze or begin to grunt slightly, pushing), put him on the pot. So the baby will understand what's what. In the future, when the baby gets used to it, he can start to indulge in turning the pot into a place for games. But there are situations when the baby sits on the potty "on business", and if you notice that the baby is pushing hard, but he does not succeed, most likely this may indicate constipation. And constipation can negatively affect the health of the little one.
In the period from one to three years, the child's gastrointestinal tract is still being formed, from which the frequency of going to the toilet largely varies on average from 4 to 21 times a week [1]. Such a large gap is associated primarily with the individual development of the baby and his nutrition. If the number of trips to the toilet is less than 4 per week, then we can talk about constipation. And its treatment must be taken seriously.
Let's say a child has constipation for the first time. Then the simplest and most obvious solution is to increase the amount of water consumed and adjust the diet. Whole grains, fruits and vegetables can be included in the diet. [1]
In case of repeated repetition of constipation, one should resort to the help of laxatives, but remember a number of points:
1. Situational laxatives with a quick effect are not suitable for frequent use.
2. safety is paramount, even with prolonged use. Laxatives with macrogol (also called polyethylene glycol) have such abilities.
3. we do not give the baby's intestines to be lazy. The laxative should help, and not take all the bowel work on itself.
To a greater extent, these rules are shared by a group of osmotic (attract water to the intestines) laxatives and, in particular, Forlax.
What is so special about it?
1. Forlax has a physiological principle of action [2]. This means that it helps the baby to cope with constipation exactly as his own intestines would do under ideal conditions. The active substance retains water molecules, conducts them through the gastrointestinal tract and delivers to the place of accumulation of too dehydrated feces. The water delivered by the drug softens the intestinal contents and increases its volume. After that, the child's intestines do all the work themselves.
2. Forlax promotes baby's bowel learning. It allows the intestines to literally "learn" to work properly without the need for constant laxatives. As a result, the positive effect from the use of the drug can persist in the baby up to 6 months, depending on the duration of the intake! [3]
3. Forlax is a long-term product for optimal effect. Its active ingredient (macrogol) is not absorbed into the bloodstream and does not have an irritating (and even more so stimulating) effect on the intestinal walls of the baby. Children can take it for a long time, up to 3 months. [4]
4. Forlax has a simple and understandable regimen, in which it is difficult to make a mistake, since the dosages are calculated in advance by specialists for a child of any age, starting from 6 months.4
Let your baby grow and enjoy life. And modern laxatives such as Forlax can help a child with constipation.
