Under natural conditions, this plant can be found in the Caucasus, as well as in the European part of Russia, where blood-red geranium is found most often in the western regions. For growth, this plant prefers shrubs, dry slopes and forest edges.
Description of the medicinal properties of blood-red geranium
For medicinal purposes, it is recommended to use flowers, roots, and also the herb of this plant. Grass includes flowers as well as leaves and stems. It is noteworthy that the rhizomes of this plant are capable of exerting anti-inflammatory and astringent effects, which is used to treat pulmonary tuberculosis, bronchitis, diseases of the gastrointestinal tract and dysentery. Infusion of blood-red geranium herb is effective for washing and lotions for abscesses, ulcers, skin diseases and festering cuts. The decoction, prepared on the basis of blood-red geranium herb, is used for bone fractures, as well as for gargling with sore throat and even for washing the head in case of hair loss.
