Yellow colors of early summer

Already, July is approaching the middle, and the colors of the beginning of summer are still fresh in my memory. Although yellow is associated more with autumn, many plants added sunshine and warmth to the cool early summer of their flowers with the yellow petals of their flowers

And again, my story will go about the plants of the glorious city on the Neva, in which I happened to meet the first three weeks of summer. The flower beds of St. Petersburg were pleased with many colors, but yellow is a special color, because it reflects the Sun itself, giving energy to all living things on Earth.

My Favorite Dandelions

Oh, these Dandelions, annoyingly making their way to the well-groomed beds of gardeners, vigilantly protecting their plantings from weeds. Gardeners do not like Dandelions!

And Dandelions live in the open spaces of city lawns at ease, easily reviving after the next haircut, carried out with an enviable short frequency. They quietly coexist with ornamental plants, as in the main photo, surrounded by a cornflower bush. Either they completely occupy the lawn, which has not yet been reached by the city gardening services or the enthusiastic townspeople who decorate their beloved Leningrad with many-sided and bright garden plants.

A tenacious and omnipresent sunny Dandelion, which helps fruit plants to reduce the ripening period of berries and fruits. That is why the Creator rewarded the plant with such delicate and picturesque flowers that delight everyone who loves nature, the Sun and earthly life!

Tulips and Pansies

In some places, belated Tulips delight passers-by. This handsome yellow man from fatigue almost lay down on the surface of the earth, but does not give up completely, pleases with his picturesque yellow "glass".

And a flock of yellow Pansies sympathetically squinted their funny black-eyed faces towards Tulip, as if they want to support him with their young enthusiasm and solidarity.

Variety of Verbeinik - Verbeinik point

The herbaceous plant "Verbeinik dottochny" grows in friendly clumps, giving the impression of a shrub or a beautifully arranged flower garden. Its erect stems are so close to each other that there is almost no chance for weeds. The bush grows rather quickly, and therefore requires the attention of a gardener who wants to have other picturesque plants in his flower garden.

Verbeinik's unpretentiousness to the conditions of life, including the enviable frost resistance of the plant, made Verbeinik point popularity among flower growers who do not have the opportunity to devote much time to caring for plants, but who love to surround themselves with spectacularly blooming natural creatures. A rare passer-by will not stop at the Verbeinik curtain with its sunny inflorescences-candles, formed by picturesque flowers with five pointed yellow petals. As if tens or even hundreds of little suns descended from Heaven to the sinful earth to make a person's life at least a little more joyful.

The picturesqueness of Verbeinik point is complemented by its healing abilities, which are actively used by folk medicine.

Common barberry

It is good that this branchy shrub is located in the background of the lawn. After all, its picturesque appearance is combined with the thorniness of the branches. The shrub is called - Common barberry. His "garlands" of yellow "earrings" are picturesque, isn't that so ?!

From such a shrub, difficult-to-pass hedges are obtained that do not allow intruders to pass. At the same time, they decorate the garden with a picturesque yellow flowering in late spring and early summer, and in autumn - with clusters of bright red berries.

Multi-name shrub

A simple, low shrub, abundantly decorated with simple yellow flowers, somewhat similar to the flowers of herbaceous plants of the Buttercup genus, has many names. This is due to the fact that botanists cannot unambiguously determine on which classification "shelf" a given shrub should be placed. Therefore, the shrub in different classifications occupies different "shelves", hence different names appear.

Since we live in Russia, we will support Russian botanists by naming the plant - Pentaphylloides fruticosa, which in Latin sounds like “Pentaphylloides fruticosa”.

The picturesque bush is a real find for lazy gardeners. It is quite unpretentious, cold-resistant, durable (it grows in one place for up to thirty years). True, for abundant flowering, the soil must be moist, but without stagnant water.
