In the middle of summer, bright yellow blossoms flare up on the flower beds with yellow colors. Ease of reproduction and unpretentious care make it an attractive plant for beginners and experienced gardeners
Reproduction
All types of reproduction are acceptable for solidago:
• seed;
• vegetative (division of the rhizome, cuttings).
Both methods are equally used by flower growers.
Seed method
Freshly harvested seeds from the previous year are suitable for sowing. With prolonged storage, they quickly lose their germination due to the presence of essential oils.
Since autumn, rotted manure or compost, a small amount of river sand (on heavy soils) are brought into the garden bed, and shovels are dug onto a bayonet.
In the spring (after the snow melts), the top layer is loosened with a hoe, leveled with a rake. Grooves are cut every 25 cm. The seeding depth is 0.5-0.7 cm. Spill the rows with water. Distribute the grains evenly. Sprinkle with earth, compact the top layer with your hand.
Cover the bed with a film through the arcs. The moisture content of the soil is monitored daily, preventing it from drying out. Moisten the soil from a watering can as needed.
After 2-3 weeks, the first shoots appear. Plants are thinned out in the phase of 2-3 true leaves, leaving the strongest specimens at a distance of 10 cm from each other. They feed Kemir with a complex fertilizer for flowers, a tablespoon per bucket of liquid.
In mid-May, young bushes are planted in a permanent place, moving plants with a large clod of earth. They try to disturb the root system less.
Seedlings rarely bloom in the first year. First, they build up vegetative mass. In the second season, flower stalks appear.
Dividing the bush
The least laborious method of reproduction is the division of the rhizome. In early spring or closer to autumn, the bushes are completely dug out of the ground. Carefully remove the soil, freeing the roots. Divide into small pieces with a sharp knife. In each division, 2-3 growth buds are left. The sections are sprinkled with ash for disinfection.
This procedure is recommended to be carried out no earlier than four years of age. At this point, the plants have produced a sufficient amount of growth. The method of dividing rhizomes contributes to the rejuvenation of bushes, provokes plants to restore lost stems.
Experts recommend the mandatory separation of solidago once every 7 years.
Thickened plantings lead to the following negative consequences:
• poor ventilation;
• bad light;
• accumulation of pathogens;
• place of accumulation of pests (slugs, snails, May beetle);
• old roots provide plants with the necessary nutrients worse;
• decorativeness is lost (the flowerbed turns into continuous thickets).
Cuttings
When propagating especially valuable varieties that give little overgrowth, the cuttings method is used. The apical parts of the shoots are used as planting material, after their partial lignification.
Twigs are cut in June with a length of 10-14 cm with 2-3 pairs of buds. Remove the bottom leaves completely. The top 2 plates are cut in half to reduce excess evaporation. The lower cut is oblique, the upper one is at an angle of 90 degrees above the kidney.
In a cool, shaded place, prepare a bed for a cuticle. They dig up the earth on the bayonet of a shovel, removing the roots of malicious, perennial weeds. Add sand, humus or peat. Mix the layers with a shovel. Level with a rake.
Grooves are cut. Spill with a compound fertilizer solution. The lower part of the stem is dipped in root powder. A seat is formed with a peg at an angle of 45 degrees. A cutting is planted, compacting the soil around it.
To increase the humidity, distribute bowls with water over the bed. Cover with foil. The soil is moistened 1-2 times a week. After 2 weeks, the plants have roots, dormant buds start to grow.
In mid-August, the seedlings are transferred to a flower bed or left to winter in a cuttings under a small shelter made of non-woven material or a layer of peat 7-10 cm high.

When Dung Is Worth Its Weight In Gold
Manure rightfully occupies one of the leading positions in the list of organic fertilizers. However, despite its enormous benefits for increasing the nutritional value and improving the quality of the mechanical composition of the soil, it is not recommended to introduce it into the soil in its original, fresh form. This will adversely affect the keeping quality of many garden crops, and may burn the roots of vegetables. Therefore, it is necessary to divert and equip a special place for the preparation and storage of manure. In this case, it is very important to know the rules for storing
