The dacha is a place for the perfect combination of rest and work. If you have a barbecue or a barbecue, you can independently cook delicious and, importantly, healthy food on charcoal. Today, there are many options for both barbecues and barbecues on sale, the cost of which is sometimes too high. If you do not want to spend money and feel that you can make such a device with your own hands, then our article is just for you! There is practically no difference between a brazier and a barbecue, the only difference is in the accessories: skewers, a wire rack

Brick grill or barbecue

The dream of any summer resident is a durable, comfortable grill made of bricks. This architectural structure will decorate any site, will be the center of celebrations and a sign of hospitality. If desired and a competent approach, a brick brazier can be made independently, having decided on the size and location. The development of the project will depend on this.

Layout

The layout should be taken seriously. Such a facility is under construction for many years and should be conveniently located. It is important to consider the accessibility of the approach, the proximity to the dining area, the distance from the wooden buildings and places where children play. Decide: do you need a niche for firewood, a roof, an area for dishes. The material is important, since not every brick can withstand temperature extremes; white silicate and refractory bricks will have to be abandoned. It is better to use stove red, it does not collapse or crack.

The height of the barbecue is determined by your height data and is determined by the distance from the ground to the arm bent at the elbow. The working length of the brazier for ten skewers is kept for about a meter. With averaged data, the height will be a meter, length and depth 2: 1, 5 m. All this will require at least 300 bricks.

Working process

Construction starts from the foundation. A pit is dug to a depth of 60 cm. A sand pillow is made (10 cm). Next, the formwork is built. The concrete is poured using a reinforced mesh. After drying, waterproofing is carried out. Brick laying begins. After the sixth row, an overlap of two rows is made. Then, in the next rows, a frying platform with gaps for air access is arranged. If you need a barbecue, then mount a metal grate on top.

To increase traction, a pipe is installed above the brazier. If the project provided for a roof, then supports are made and everything is covered with metal tiles or galvanized iron. Remained cosmetic work on the surface plastering.

Mobile metal brazier or barbecue

The brazier, which can be placed closer to the gazebo or taken out on the lawn, in winter, moved closer to the house, is appreciated by lovers of improvisation and comfort. Maneuverability is an important fact of operation. Portable barbecues are of several types: all-metal and folding. The second option does not take up space on the territory, is easy to assemble, does not require a large storage space in the utility room. The disadvantage is that they do not have high heat resistance, warp, burn out quickly.

These structures are not complicated in execution and are often made independently; for this, metal sheets are used. The best option is stainless steel with a thickness of 1.5-2 mm. If you have a welding machine, the plates are easily attached to each other with a regular seam. A more time consuming process is bolting. In this case, the iron is fixed on metal corners, from which the frame is first made. An additional corner in the form of a shelf helps to protect from warping. A collapsible brazier assumes a separate fastening of all sides. In any case, the structure must have rigidity and strength in order to withstand the firewood, coals and food to be cooked.

It is important to know that a high-quality bottom greatly increases the service life. To do this, take a thicker metal, about 3-4 mm. The strength of the structure depends on the proportions of the size: the length should be twice the width. For a small company (3-4 eaters), a barbecue with a size of 30x50 cm is enough. The principle of calculating the length is based on the number of skewers: add 10 cm for each unit. For a collapsible barbecue, you need to design legs with a removable mount.

Stationary grill

The stationary brazier differs from the collapsible or portable version in its design, additions in the form of a roof, an auxiliary table, and a place for firewood. It has thicker walls, making it durable, heavy and not transportable.

The strength of the frying box is given by the bottom, which is installed with an overlap and extends to the sides by 8-10 cm. Accordingly, the frame is assembled first, the sides are attached and, lastly, the lower part. After assembly, traction holes are made along the long sides. If the drill is 2-3 cm in diameter, then the distances are maintained in 4-5 cm increments, smaller holes require a shorter interval. The last step is the skewer grooves in the upper part or the attachment for the grate. Additional accessories in the form of a roof, shelves, a table are made at your request in accordance with the previously drawn up project.
