The flowers of the large-headed wormwood disk will be bisexual and there are only about ninety of them, the corolla is naked and narrowly goblet-conical in shape. The length of the achenes of this plant will only slightly exceed one millimeter, and in shape such achenes will be ovoid-oblong.
The bloom of large-headed wormwood falls on the month of August. Under natural conditions, this plant is found in Central Asia, Altai region of Western Siberia and Angara-Sayan region of Eastern Siberia. For growth, this plant prefers places among shrubs and along roads, river valleys, saline steppe, saline onions, rocky, clayey, gravelly and saline slopes, as well as places in the middle and upper mountain belt. It should be noted that large-headed wormwood is a weed plant.
Description of the medicinal properties of large-headed wormwood
Large-headed wormwood is endowed with very valuable healing properties, while for medicinal purposes it is recommended to use the inflorescences and grass of this plant. Grass includes stems, leaves and flowers.
The presence of such valuable healing properties is recommended to be explained by the content of essential oil, vitamin C, carotene, rubber, alkaloids, polyacetylene compounds, phenols and their derivatives in the composition of this plant. As for traditional medicine, here large-headed wormwood has become very widespread. Traditional medicine recommends using a decoction prepared on the basis of the leaves and inflorescences of this plant as an anti-inflammatory agent in the form of rinsing for diseases of the nose, sore throat, stomatitis, gingivitis and tonsillitis. Inside, such a decoction is taken for influenza, pneumonia and bronchitis. It is noteworthy that in veterinary medicine this healing agent has found a similar application.
In case of convulsions in horses and camels, it is recommended to use a decoction prepared on the basis of large-headed wormwood inflorescences. For all the above diseases, the following healing agent is used for rinsing: boil three tablespoons of dry crushed leaves in half a liter of water, and then insist and filter thoroughly.
