The leaves of this plant contain flavonoids, cardenolides, nitrogen-containing compounds, anthraquinones and phenol carboxylic acids.
As for traditional medicine, here this plant is quite widespread. An infusion prepared on the basis of rusty foxglove leaves is recommended for use in case of heart failure, pneumonia and ascites. In the form of an ointment, such an infusion is used for scabies and tumors. An infusion based on the roots of this plant is indicated for use in anthrax.
