The monofilament sunflower is a semi-shrub, the height of which will fluctuate between ten and forty centimeters. Such a plant is highly branched and it will be endowed with uplifting shoots, in the lower part the stems of the monolithous sunflower will be woody, they can be painted in both dark brown and grayish brown tones. The olive stems of this plant are divided into segments by means of transverse annular leaf scars. The length of the leaves of the monofilament sunflower will be about four to twenty five millimeters, and the width will be equal to three to eight millimeters. Such leaves are opposite, oblong-oval in shape, and below they will be bluish-tomentose. Curls of three to eight flowers will be on dense tomentose pedicels, the length of the petals of this plant will be about seven to eleven millimeters, they are endowed with a darker spot located at the very base. Such petals can be painted in both orange-yellow and yellowish-pink tones, and the seeds will be dark purple in color.

The monofilament sunflower blooms in the period from May to August. Under natural conditions, this plant is found on the territory of the Crimea, the Caucasus, Ukraine, Moldova, as well as the European part of Russia, with the exception of only the Lower Volga and Zavolzhsky regions. As for the general distribution, this plant can be found in Asia Minor, Central Europe and the Balkans. For growth, the monolithous sunflower prefers pine and shrub forests, chalk, calcareous and stony mountain slopes up to the upper mountain belt. It is noteworthy that this plant is not only a very valuable melliferous plant, but is also very decorative.

Description of the medicinal properties of monolithic sunflower

For colitis and dysentery, it is recommended to use the following very effective healing agent based on this plant: to prepare such a healing agent, you will need to take ten grams of crushed dry leaves of monolithic sunflower for one full glass of boiling water. The resulting medicinal mixture should first be left to infuse for about two hours, after which this mixture based on this plant must be very carefully filtered. As an astringent drug for colitis, such a drug is taken in two to three tablespoons. In addition, such a drug based on monolithic sunflower is quite acceptable to use as a wound healing agent in the form of lotions.
