Weakened immunity? No problem! IRGA will come to the rescue

In autumn and winter, our body weakens and responds to slushy, dank weather with a decrease in immunity. During this period of time, the main thing is to stock up on vitamins from your own garden in time. Many useful vegetables and fruits grow in our gardens and vegetable gardens, but it would not hurt to allocate space for a berry bush called Irga.

Irga is an unpretentious multi-stemmed shrub. The multi-colored family includes over 16 species. It can grow in any soil except wetlands. The bush is able to withstand frosts down to minus 45 degrees, during the flowering period - up to minus 10. Irga is planted from the windward side, since the bush perfectly protects other fruit and berry crops from frost and winds. Irgi bushes prefer well-lit places and it is best to plant them one at a time at a distance of at least two to three meters from each other.

Irga is planted in two ways: by seeds and root suckers. When planting irgi with root suckers, the bush begins to bear fruit in about three years, and when sowing, after 6-7 years. It is preferable to plant with seeds, as the bushes develop better than when dividing the bush into root suckers. Bushes are planted in early autumn, for which you first need to fertilize the soil with humus and mineral fertilizers. Fertilized soil and about two kilograms of ash are introduced into a planting hole about 50 * 60 cm in size.

Bush care

Irgi shrubs are quite unpretentious to care for and do not require special attention. One has only to water them during a drought period and from time to time mulch the soil with humus. In the second or third year after planting, to improve growth, the bushes are fed with a solution of bird droppings or ammonium nitrate. An adult bush, if not cared for, reaches a height of 8 meters. Therefore, it is often used as a hedge. The shrub has no pests, therefore it reproduces well by root suckers and because of which it becomes like a weed. It is for this that you need to cut off the shrub in time, but you should not throw away the extra offspring, but it is best to distribute valuable shoots to friends and neighbors.

Picking berries

Irgi berries ripen unevenly, so the collection takes place in several approaches. Rarely does a whole bunch ripen, and in this case it is advisable to pick the berries not separately, but in a whole bunch. If the berries on the brush are not all ripe, then only ripe ones should be cut off. For picking berries, you should prepare a plastic container. In order not to crush delicate berries, do not pour them from container into container before cooking or eating.

Useful properties of irgi berries

Irgi berries contain vitamins of group B, A, P and K, as well as vitamin C and up to 15% sugars. There are also tannins and various acids. In medicine, irgu is used to treat the oral mucosa and for diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, for stress and improper nutrition, as well as for vitamin deficiency and as anti-inflammatory drugs. Irga will play an important role for the growing body of a child, because it contains iodine, which is so necessary for its full development. For people with a diseased thyroid gland, iodine in irga will be no less useful.

Juice from fresh irgi berries has a stimulating effect. People who cannot wake up in the morning will find it especially useful. A decoction of dried berries can cure stomatitis and sore throat.

Among the useful properties of irgi there is the fact that this bush can be used as a decoration in their personal plots. Irga will perfectly fit into the decor of your flower garden, or become a curtain between you and the outside world.
