The flowering of European salicornia occurs in the second half of the summer period, from the end of June to the month of August. Under natural conditions, this plant is found on the territory of the Crimea, the Caucasus, Ukraine, Central Asia, the Daursky and Angara-Sayansky regions of Eastern Siberia, the Obsky, Irtyshsky and Verkhnetobolsky regions of Western Siberia, as well as the following regions of the European part of Russia: Dvinsko-Pechora, Zavolzhsky, Nizhnevolzhsky, Volga-Don, Black Sea and Zavolzhsky. For growth, European saltwort prefers saline deposits, sores, wet salt marshes, gypsum-bearing and salty crusts, sea coasts and the shores of salt lakes.

Soleros European is endowed with very valuable healing properties, while it is recommended to use the herb of this plant for medicinal purposes. Grass includes flowers, leaves and stems.
