The fragrant spikelet is also known under the following popular names: fragrant herb, miracle worker, tomka and fragrant Dubrovka. The sweet spikelet is a perennial herb that will fluctuate in height between twenty and fifty centimeters. The stems of this plant are erect straws with rather short linear leaves. Such leaves of a fragrant spikelet will be covered with soft hairs, and they may also be bare. The length of the spike-shaped inflorescences is about three to six centimeters, such inflorescences will consist of single-flowered spikelets endowed with four spikelet scales. There are only two stamens, and there are four spikelet scales, their length can reach ten millimeters, while two scales will be endowed with awns. The flowering scales of the fragrant spikelet are membranous.

The flowering of a fragrant spikelet occurs in the period from May to August. Under natural conditions, this plant can be found on the territory of the forest-steppe and steppe parts of Russia, as well as in Ukraine and the Caucasus, in Siberia and in the northern regions of Central Asia. For growth, the fragrant spikelet prefers ordinary and mountain meadows, shrubs and forest glades.

Description of the medicinal properties of a fragrant spikelet

Fragrant spikelet is a rather valuable medicinal plant, while it is recommended to use the herb of this plant for medicinal purposes. The concept of grass includes ears and stems. Such medicinal raw materials should be harvested over several months, from May to August.

The plant is endowed with diuretic, analgesic, sedative, mild hypnotic and antiemetic effects. As for traditional medicine, water infusions or decoctions prepared on the basis of this plant are quite widespread here. It is recommended to insist such raw materials for thirty to forty minutes in a glass of boiling water, after which the resulting mixture should be very thoroughly filtered. Take this remedy on the basis of a fragrant spikelet, two tablespoons three times a day. It is noteworthy that in order to achieve greater efficiency when using this remedy, it is recommended to strictly observe not only all the rules for the preparation of this remedy, but also all the norms for its intake.

With hepatitis, gastritis and urolithiasis, which is accompanied by bloating, it is recommended to prepare a tincture based on a fragrant spikelet. To prepare such a product, you should grind three or four branches of this plant, fill them with half a liter of water, and then leave to insist and take a few drops, diluting with water.
