Fragrant bison is a perennial herbaceous aromatic plant endowed with long rhizomes, the height of which will fluctuate between twenty-five and seventy centimeters. The stems of this plant are smooth and bare. The leaves are flat, the basal ones will be long-pointed, and the stem ones are glabrous, lanceolate-linear and endowed with a rather long membranous tongue. The inflorescence of the fragrant bison will be paniculate and ovate, its length will be about ten to twelve centimeters. Spikelets are painted in golden brown tones, they are shiny and ovoid, endowed with either two staminate flowers, or one bisexual. The fruit of this plant is a caryopsis.

The flowering of bison fragrant occurs in the period from late spring to early summer. Under natural conditions, this plant is found in the Far East, in Western Siberia, in the European part of Russia, Central Asia, in the Caucasus, in Kazakhstan, Belarus and Ukraine. For growth, the plant prefers places along the banks of rivers and forest edges, in damp meadows and on sandy soils along the banks of rivers, as well as in the mountains.

Description of the medicinal properties of bison fragrant

Fragrant bison is endowed with very valuable healing properties, while for medicinal purposes it is recommended to use the herb of this plant, which includes panicles, leaves and stems. Such raw materials should be harvested in the period from May to June.

The presence of such valuable healing properties is explained by the content of coumarin glycoside in the plant, which will give the plant an aromatic smell. It is noteworthy that such a substance will be formed only when the plant is dried. In addition, the following acids are found in the herb of aromatic bison: melilotic, ferulic and coumaric. The rootstock of this plant contains coumarin and a coumarin compound called umbelliferone. Ascorbic acid is present in the leaves and panicles of this plant.

An aqueous infusion and tincture of the herb of this plant on vodka is recommended for various chronic diseases of the stomach, as well as for fever and pulmonary tuberculosis, to stimulate appetite and as an antiseptic. It should be noted that the rhizomes of this plant, when taken orally, have a warming effect.

It is noteworthy that fragrant bison is also used in the alcoholic beverage industry in order to prepare a rather aromatic tincture called bison.

For pulmonary tuberculosis, it is recommended to use the following rather effective remedy based on fragrant bison: to prepare such a remedy, it is recommended to take one tablespoon of dry herb of this plant, which should be infused for thirty minutes in one glass of boiling water and in a sealed container. After that, it is recommended to strain the resulting product very thoroughly. Such a remedy is taken on the basis of fragrant bison in two tablespoons three to four times a day, ten to fifteen minutes before the start of a meal. It is important to remember that in order to achieve the greatest efficiency, all cooking standards should be strictly observed, as well as all the rules for taking such a valuable product.
