Getting to know the plant
Arrowhead dwarf is a wonderful dwarf plant with creeping shoots, endowed with incredibly delicate leaves and strongly shortened stems. Its height reaches ten centimeters on average. A wonderful plant is represented by the Chastukhov family. By the way, it has one more name - dwarf sagittaria.
The dwarf arrowhead leaf blades have a linear shape and are painted in bright green tones. And the rhizomes of this aquatic inhabitant are very well developed.
Often, tiny fry find refuge in the bizarre thickets of the dwarf arrowhead. Adult fish will not refuse to frolic in them.
How to grow
For growing dwarf arrowheads, aquariums of absolutely any capacity are suitable. The range of temperatures most optimal for its full growth is also very wide - from eighteen to twenty-eight degrees. And at lower temperatures (up to twelve degrees), it is also able to temporarily exist.
The growth rate of the dwarf arrowhead is equally good both in soft water and in hard water. In general, the indicators of rigidity and active reaction of the aquatic environment do not play a fundamental role for its prosperous existence. But the soil should be well silted. The best substrate for dwarf arrowhead is a combination of large or medium pebbles with small islands of sand. By the way, a large substrate serves as an excellent barrier for the spread of this aquatic inhabitant along the bottom. For the comfortable existence of a dwarf arrowhead, a soil thickness of two to three centimeters will be enough.
As for maintaining cleanliness in aquariums, then, perhaps, this is one of the main requirements for the comfortable development of the dwarf arrowhead. The turbidity settling in the form of a plaque on the leaves of this beautiful water easily destroys the vulnerable leaves. It is also advisable to change the water, and weekly (by one fifth or one quarter of the total). And the silt accumulating in the thickets during a water change should be eliminated with a funnel.
The ideal lighting for keeping a luxurious dwarf arrowhead is a moderately bright light. Its lack often leads to a significant deterioration in the decorative qualities of an unpretentious aquatic inhabitant - the saturation of its color gradually decreases, the stalks stretch out, and the formation of luxurious thickets may stop altogether. It is possible to get bright green, undersized and maximally dense bushes only in bright light. However, the intensity of illumination for each plant is always selected individually. It is noteworthy that lamps of any kind may well become an artificial source of illumination. And the daylight hours for this handsome man need to be provided within twelve to fourteen hours.
The luxurious dwarf arrowhead reproduces vegetatively - such reproduction occurs with the help of daughter plants planted separately.
It is allowed to grow a wonderful green pet in humid greenhouses. Any soil is suitable, as long as it is nutritious. The temperature can vary from twenty-four to thirty degrees, and you need bright lighting. It is noteworthy that specimens obtained from greenhouses can be immediately transferred to aquariums.
The dwarf arrowhead is unpretentious and does not cause any difficulties in care.
