Finally, you have acquired the summer cottage that you have dreamed of for so long. Now you have a piece of land where you will fulfill all your dreams, inspired by the peasant genes of your ancestors. Here you will work and relax with your children and grandchildren, drink aromatic teas with friends. But soon only a fairy tale affects, and it will take a lot of time to arrange your garden. So that the road to your dream is not too bumpy, we offer a few simple commandments of gardening skills

Measure seven times

Here is a long-awaited piece of your land in front of you. Do not rush to pick up a saw, shovel, or other gardening tool. Look around carefully. Your little plot is a piece of wildlife that already existed here before you came.

Two tall white-barked birches are rustling with foliage, standing at a distance from each other, which is quite suitable for placing a light and comfortable hammock on them. And under the spreading red rowan trees, you can arrange an excellent resting place with a table and benches, where it will be pleasant to drink tea brewed on wild or garden-grown herbs.

Do not rush to remove trees already growing on the site. After all, they do not grow so fast. Once upon a time, the orchard, carefully planted by your hands, will rustle, and these trees will already serve you well.

Nothing is more durable than temporary

If you do not have "dashing" income, do not plan to build "knightly castles" on your small plot. But try to do without sloppy temporary huts. Even a small building will be beautiful and neat. After all, as folk wisdom says, there is nothing more durable than temporary. Learn to look at the fruits of your creativity from the outside in order to timely detect the absurdity, and not to redo what has already been done later. After all, rebuilding, as well as altering, is much more difficult than creating a new one.

Perspective view

Having decided to plant shrubs, trees, perennial herbaceous plants, sit in a comfortable chair, close your eyes and mentally look around your site, imagining it in five, ten or thirty years. Remember that trees, although not as fast as herbaceous plants, are able to grow, shrubs give young growth. After evaluating, you can moderate your passion and creativity, save your energy and finances.

There are no trifles

You need to think over your landings down to the smallest detail. After all, mistakes made at the beginning of land development can be very expensive in the future.

After all, it will be very bitter to realize in a few years that you need to pick up a saw and a shovel in order to uproot fruit bushes that have grown together with a solid wall or cut down fruit trees that are ready to please you with their harvest. Because your garden has such a thick shade from the trees that no other ornamental plants you dreamed of want to grow under them.

Exotics should be postponed

Do not seek to surprise others with overseas wonders that require special living conditions and maximum attention to their people. Try to choose those varieties that have already proven themselves in your climate zone.

Do not save on the purchase of planting material, selecting the best varieties that can create the maximum decorative effect and a guaranteed yield, again taking into account your climate.

Choose varieties of ornamental plants with different flowering periods so that your garden smells fragrant throughout the summer season. The same applies to vegetable crops, so that you can always pick some kind of vegetable or greens right from the garden to the table.

Remember that going too far with the number of crops will only be harmful. All the same, over time, you will have to give up all that is superfluous. Do not forget that you acquired the land not in order to work on it until you drop, but in order to gain strength in the fresh air.

Try not to become selfish

Don't buy more plants than your family needs. Do not try to use every piece of land on your site for planting vegetables, berries and fruit crops.

Do not forget the main function of the summer house - the function of relaxation. Be sure to set aside a place for the device of a rest corner, to create flower beds. Create your own little Paradise filled with the scent of flowers, buzzing bees, singing birds.
