Recently, I started talking about the reasons for the appearance of spots on the leaves of eggplant and peppers. But since the topic is quite voluminous, everything did not fit into one article. I would like to continue this topic. What else can cause the appearance of a variety of spots
Sunburn or hypothermia
Not only diseases can provoke damage and death of leaves on plants. Weather conditions also have a big impact on this. Often, damage to leaves from hypothermia occurs at the early stages of plant development, namely at the time when the hardening of seedlings begins. It is worth a little longer than the allotted time to hold it on the street or a little mistaken with the temperature - and now you already have seedlings with yellow crumbling leaves. Almost the same will happen if you put young plants in the sun, not from hypothermia, but from sunburn.
Similar problems may arise later, in adult eggplants or peppers, if the summer is too cold or when the garden is located in the sun.
Therefore, it is advisable to closely monitor the temperature regime and take timely measures, if possible.
Microplasmosis
This disease has another name - stolbur. Unlike many other diseases, plant wilting in this case starts from the top, not from the bottom. First of all, the upper leaves turn yellow, the veins on them on the back become purple. Then the disease gradually affects the lower part of the plant.
Unfortunately, it is impossible to fight this disease, there is only one way out - to completely remove the diseased plant from the garden and burn it. Do not use it for composting under any circumstances, otherwise you will infect the entire area. Perform preventive treatments regularly the next year. And thicken the planting a little, since the carrier of the disease does not really like densely planted plants.
Alfalfa Mosaic
Another incurable disease - alfalfa mosaic - can be the reason for the appearance of spots and death of plants. But despite the fact that it is not treated, this disease is extremely rare, and even then it is mainly in greenhouse peppers and provided that alfalfa grows somewhere nearby.
The disease is characterized by the appearance of white spots on the leaves of the pepper. The spots are not solid, but mosaic. If your pepper still "caught" this virus, then remove the diseased plant and destroy it, and carry out preventive treatment for healthy plants. For the next year, choose a place for peppers away from alfalfa fields.
Gray rot
An unpleasant, but completely curable disease that activates in wet weather or in greenhouses with excessive moisture. It affects the whole plant as a whole: light gray spots appear on the stems, and on the leaves, and even on the fruits.
For treatment, thoroughly ventilate the greenhouse so that the air becomes drier. And then peppers and eggplants growing both in the greenhouse and in the open field, treat with Bordeaux liquid. You can additionally sprinkle the affected areas on the plants with a mixture of copper sulfate with lime, taking them in a ratio of 1 to 2, that is, for one part of copper sulfate, you will need 2 parts of lime.
Powdery mildew
This is perhaps one of the main enemies of summer residents, which affects not only peppers and eggplants. It is characterized by the appearance of a white powdery bloom on the plants. Peppers and eggplants are not so often affected and under certain conditions, namely at high air humidity, and in a greenhouse - with poor ventilation.
For treatment, it is necessary to treat the affected plants with special agents purchased in highly specialized stores. Carry out processing 2-3 times.
