In our time, I really want to believe the words of F. Dostoevsky that beauty will save the world. The general fascination with garden plots allows us to touch one of the facets of beauty - flowers. Do not let it bother you if your garden is far from home and you cannot take care of flowers every day, dig out certain species for the winter, as, for example, do with dahlias or gladioli. The so-called park perennials will come to your aid. They are no less beautiful than garden flowers, and at the same time surprisingly hardy, they can do without watering, being content with natural rainfall, put up with the poorest soils, and most of them, multiplying by seeds, will self-renew without your intervention

Perennials that grow in one place up to 5-10 and even 15 years are of particular importance. The undoubted advantage of such plants is the ability to create a flowering conveyor from them from spring to autumn.

SPOT BLACKING, or DREAM-GRASS, blooms in April. The height of this perennial is 30-40 cm, the flowers are large, up to 4-5 cm in diameter, bell-shaped, purple, covered with soft shiny hairs outside. Produce abundantly and regularly. Propagated mainly by freshly harvested seeds. Unpretentious: it grows both in the shade and in open sunny areas for 5-6 years in one place. Distributed in Siberia and the European part of the CIS, including the Crimea, the Caucasus. It is also found in the wild in Moldova. Given the ease of seed reproduction, we advise you not to dig up adult plants, not to impoverish nature, but to collect seeds, especially since special care is needed when transplanting plants.

LUPINE MULTI-SHEETED will replace the blackening chamber. It blooms in May for two to three weeks. Your garden will undoubtedly be decorated with plants reaching a height of 80-100 cm, with large, palmate-complex leaves and a deep fleshy taproot on which nodules develop. The flowers are white, pink, purple, carmine flowers, collected in a dense spike-shaped inflorescence of a narrow pyramidal shape. When pruning the peduncle after flowering, it can bloom again at the end of summer. The fruit is a dense bean. The seeds are round, gray, of different shades. It bears fruit very abundantly and gives a rich self-seeding.

Lupine multifoliate is propagated mainly by seeds. And although the color of flowers in this case is not transmitted, nevertheless, in a mixture of colors, it is even more decorative. Sowing is done directly into the ground before winter or early spring. Young seedlings can be easily transplanted. It is impossible to propagate adult plants by dividing the bush, since the long taproot practically does not divide, and it is difficult to transfer the transplant. The economic suitability of the planting lasts 5-6 years, in general, the plant can live in one place for up to 10 years. Lupine is not picky about soils.

The perennial was introduced to Europe in the 19th century from North America. D. N. Pryanishnikov was the initiator of its introduction into the cultivation for green fertilization in Russia. The nitrogen-fixing ability of lupine with the help of root-nodule bacteria living on the roots allows it to absorb a significant amount of nitrogen from the air, and the acidic secretions of its root system are able to dissolve phosphorus compounds of the soil, which are inaccessible to many other plants. Due to this property of lupine, assimilable forms of phosphorus are accumulated in the soil, which are necessary for the culture following the lupine. Consequently, when plowing the lupine mass, the soil is enriched not only with nitrogen, but also with phosphorus.
