A perennial plant similar to the Phoenix bird. Its above-ground part dies off for the winter, and in the spring the roots that have wintered under the snow release new shoots, decorating the world with their inflorescences-panicles of all kinds of shades
Family Saxifrage
Amazing plants of the Saxifrage family are striking in their endurance and unpretentiousness. It seems that they are able to break through rocks of any hardness in order to decorate the world with their colors. The family unites a huge number of ornamental plants, for example:
* Badan is a plant-healer. In addition, it can play different roles in decorating a summer cottage: imitate a natural landscape, create living borders, decorate a lawn with a single bush, and create compositions with other plants.
* Geyherella is a hybrid of Geyhera and Tiarella. Its compact bush with beautiful two-colored leaves decorates the garden for three to four years, located in the same place. Prefers a cold climate, which is important for our vast homeland.
* Saxifrage - marsh, ascending, soddy, stiff-leaved, granular, cymbal, drooping, snowy and mustachioed.
* The spleen is a cold-resistant healer of spleen diseases.
* Astilba - not needing shine to attract attention to her person.
Growing conditions for Astilba
The plant loves shaded places, but some bred hybrids easily tolerate glades open to the sun. Requires abundant watering, tolerates stagnant water, welcomes the high location of groundwater.
The soil prefers rich organic matter with constant replenishment of the upper layer, since the rhizomes grow vertically upward and new buds are exposed and defenseless in front of the sun. Therefore, it is necessary to periodically add fertile mulch. But they can also grow on heavy loams.
With the constant addition of mulch, they can grow in one place for four to five years, and sometimes up to twenty years, if during this time you do not get bored.
Reproduction of Astilba
Three types of reproduction are possible:
1. Seeds - a lot of fuss with this reproduction. The seeds are very small, shoots appear in a month, when you can already forget about sowing. Such plants begin to bloom already in the third year of their life.
2. By sprouting renewal buds - cut out one renewal bud, taking part of the rhizome. This should be done in early spring. Such a bud is rooted in a greenhouse, and transferred to a permanent place of residence for the next year, in the spring. Flowers will delight in the year of disembarkation to a permanent place.
3. Dividing the rhizome is the easiest way of reproduction. It is better to do this in the spring, when the leaves are not yet in the way, the buds are clearly visible. Each transplanted part of the plant should have 1-3 buds. Then in the fall of the same year you can admire the flowers. But you can transplant the plant during flowering. This is very convenient when buying astilba in a store so that you know for sure what flowers you are purchasing.
Landing requirements
As already mentioned, you can plant the already blooming astilba. It is important to provide the newly planted plant with warmth and moisture, otherwise it may not take root.
The distance between seedlings in flower beds and borders should be at least 30-50 centimeters. When planting, a complex mineral fertilizer is added to the hole, 5-7 grams per seedling.
Astilba looks great as a separate bush against the background of trees, among decorative coniferous plantings. They prefer to grow closer to water bodies, or in semi-shady humid places.
Its neighbors can be ferns, hosts, irises. She goes well with her relatives from the Saxifrage family - geyhera and badan. Bright red geraniums, bells, paniculate phlox are suitable for her company. In the spring, a bush that begins to rise will be decorated with early flowers (snowdrops, primroses) or undersized perennials blooming in spring (saxifrage, lamb).
From low-growing varieties of astilbe, live borders are arranged.
Inflorescences of many astilba varieties are suitable for cutting. They can be dried for use in winter bouquets.
Pests
Plants capable of "punching" stones are not afraid of pests. Here are just a dream loves to penetrate into someone else's territory, getting in the way underfoot. But it is easy to deal with it, pulling gently on one root to pull out the entire branched, annoying root.

Several Ways To Get Rid Of Wheatgrass Without Chemicals
