The end of winter and the beginning of spring is the very time when many summer residents are seriously puzzled by the issues of sowing seeds for seedlings. And, by the way, this applies not only to the most common garden crops, but also to all kinds of flowers - in order for a garden or flower garden to truly delight in the summer, it is worth taking care of their future splendor right now! What kind of flowers does it make sense to sow for seedlings in March?
Echinacea
The seeds of this plant are buried in an ordinary universal soil by about half a centimeter. Then the seed is sprinkled on top with a small amount of sand and thoroughly moistened with a spray bottle. And that's all, you can expect the appearance of seedlings - as a rule, this happens in a month or in extreme cases in one and a half! At the same time, until they appear, the pots of seeds should be kept under reliable shelter, from time to time eliminating the condensate formed on it from the film, and also periodically spraying the soil surface with water. And in the room where the containers with seedlings are installed, it should not be too hot: the most optimal temperature for the full growth and development of echinacea seedlings is considered to be the range from thirteen to fifteen degrees. As for the movement of grown Echinacea seedlings into open ground, it is carried out approximately in mid-May.
Marigold
It is best to plant marigold seedlings in a mixture of sand, turf, as well as peat and humus, taken in a ratio of 1: 2: 2: 2. As soon as the seeds are in the soil, a little more of the same soil mixture is poured on top of them - with a layer of about one centimeter, and then cover the container with a lid. After five to seven days, the first shoots should hatch, and then, already during the formation of two true leaves, the grown seedlings dive. Mid-June is the most optimal time for transferring marigolds to open ground.
Petunia
When sowing petunia seeds, it is important not to forget that there is no need to sprinkle them with earth - carefully distributing them over the surface of a well-moistened substrate, these seeds are sprayed with water from a spray bottle, and then the pots are covered in order to create a greenhouse effect with glass or film and set on sufficiently well-lit and draft-free window sills. The seed is kept in a fairly warm room (the ideal temperature would be between twenty-three and twenty-six degrees) until the first tiny shoots appear. And then, after three or four days, the temperature should be reduced to eighteen or twenty degrees, and the film or glass must also be removed. By the way, if you sow petunia seeds immediately in individual containers, you don't need to dive the seedlings! The planting period in open ground is May or the very beginning of June.
Verbena
Seeds are sown in boxes for seedlings filled with perlite, sand or light humus soil - distributing them over the surface of a sufficiently moist soil, all the seeds are carefully sprinkled with a thin layer of prepared humus. Next, the boxes should be covered with foil or glass and installed in a warm room with a temperature of eighteen to twenty degrees. Until the emergence of seedlings, the seed must be systematically sprayed (a spray gun is perfect for this purpose), in addition, it is recommended to ventilate the boxes with future seedlings without fail and regularly remove condensation. After twenty to thirty days, as soon as the first sprouts hatch, the film or glass is removed, and the boxes with seedlings themselves are transferred to a cooler place. And after the appearance of three or four true leaves, the seedlings dive into individual containers. It is permissible to plant verbena in the ground only after warm weather is established!
Phlox Drummond
The seed must be germinated first. This is done very easily: the seeds are placed on wet cotton pads, after which they are covered with a film and removed to a warm place (for example, you can place them near the radiators). And as soon as the seeds hatch, they must be scattered over the surface of absolutely any universal soil available, and then sprinkled on top with the same soil. Approximately in a week, the very first shoots should appear - as soon as this happens, the containers with the seedlings are removed from the batteries and they try to immediately provide the plants with proper lighting and regular watering. The most optimal temperature for the full development of Drummond phlox seedlings is considered to be the range from eighteen to twenty-one degrees. And two to three weeks after the appearance of real leaves, the seedlings must dive into separate containers, after which they are provided with moderate watering and periodic fertilizing with complex mineral fertilizers.

March: What Are We Sowing For Seedlings?
March seems to be the first month of spring, but judging by the weather, it is rather a messenger of spring, the days are getting longer and the nights are shorter. On the street, despite the cold, the approach of warmth is already felt. And, therefore, very soon it is necessary to come to grips with gardening work on the street. In the meantime, there is still a little time in order to calmly sow seeds for seedlings, because we did not all planted in January and February. So, what can you plant in March and what factors should be considered when choosing seeds?
What Flowers We Sow On Seedlings In February
We sowed the first seeds for seedlings in January. But you can't sow everything at once, because everyone has different periods of germination, growth, flowering and other indicators. Therefore, in February we will sow several more types of flowers. We will consider what exactly needs to be sown in this article. I'll start, perhaps, with one of my favorite flowers - lobelia
