One of the main advantages of all euonymus, which determines the status of these plants as unique horticultural crops, is decorativeness throughout the year. The dense, but at the same time, openwork-mosaic crown of euonymus in summer pleases with rich colors of greenery, and in autumn - with glowing colors, the brightest in the garden palette.
The flowering, albeit not lush, but clearly stands out against the background of dark greenery thanks to the graceful flowers collected in tassels. And after the parade of white, pink, carmine, lilac, purple, orange and yellow spots ends, euonymus adorn the garden with a luxurious necklace of fruits. The euonymus was historically called the "spindle bush", because only from its wood spindles were made. Today, euonymus is undoubtedly a decorative, not an industrial culture. These are deciduous shrubs or low trees with rounded or tetrahedral shoots decorated with cork outgrowths, flowers collected from small panicles and bright winged or thorny capsule fruits. The leaves of euonymus are very densely planted, but grow oppositely, which gives the entire crown a luminous ornamentation.

Various types of euonymus are used for decorating walls and fences, for solo parties, creating living screens, as soloists in flower beds along with traditional annuals and perennials, and as a creeping ground cover shrub. They are considered one of the most popular autumn crops, because the amazingly bright and clean color palette of their crown at the end of the season is actually a unique phenomenon. And in a light shade under trees, and against the background of a lawn or even in the middle of a flower garden, these shrubs or small trees acquire their spectacular color. Winged euonymus changes into the purest kraplak (red-purple) tone, which, in combination with bright pink fruits, seems almost artificial. This euonymus becomes especially decorative when the fruits are opened and bright red-orange seeds begin to peep out of them.
It is also very beautiful in winter, when it becomes possible to fully appreciate the beauty of its decorative bark with specific cork ridges. The flat-petiolate euonymus is a looser and shorter alternative to the winged euonymus. Most often it is dyed in a carmine red autumn outfit, but the palette for different varieties ranges from yellow to dark cherry. One of the main advantages of this plant is its bright, cherry-red fruits, which seem to shine on the bush even before the flat-petioled euonymus changes its intense green color to autumn in September.

As a ground cover, usually only one type of euonymus is used - the unique low euonymus Forchun, represented by numerous varieties.
