Description
Red Voskovnitsa is a tree from ten to twenty meters high with a luxurious hemispherical crown. The smooth bark is gray, and the plant itself is dioecious.
The rounded fruits of the red beetroot reach a diameter of one and a half to two and a half centimeters. All of them are covered with a purple or red leathery, rough and rather dense shell. The reddish pulp contained inside the fruit is very sweet and surprisingly tender, while its taste is quite tart. By the way, the taste of red gumboil resembles a combination of several tastes at once: cherry, blackberry and strawberry. And in the very center of each fruit is a large seed.
Where grows
Voskovnitsa red - a native of East Asia. Since ancient times (to be more precise, over two millennia), it has been actively cultivated in the countries of Southeast Asia, as well as not in China and Japan. The name of this beautiful plant can be found in a huge number of ancient Japanese poems. Now, the largest plantings of this culture can be seen in China, somewhat south of the Yangtze River - in this area it has colossal economic importance, since the red gristle is an excellent raw material for winemaking and a valuable source of food. In addition, this crop is grown in Korea, Nepal, Taiwan and the Philippines.
Application
In most cases, red wax is eaten fresh, in addition, it is fermented into wine, canned and dried, and also excellent juices, yoghurts and liqueurs are prepared from it. It is no less good in the form of desserts. At the same time, marvelous berries are practically not exported outside the growing areas, since they simply cannot be stored for a long time.
Since ancient times, the fruits of the red waxweed have been famous for their excellent healing properties. They are very rich in antioxidants, so their regular use can not only improve metabolism, but also have anti-sclerotic, rejuvenating and restorative effects.
