Washing in the country

How did our ancestors get along when there was no soap or detergents? Did they somehow maintain the hygiene of the body and their clothes? Looking deep into the centuries, we learn that, as always, nature itself came to the rescue of man. The Almighty created such plants that are able to cleanse the fabric of dirt and microbes, without creating problems for human health, as modern chemical assistants often do

Dacha fees

When planning to spend a summer vacation at our own dacha, we make a long list of things that you need to take with you so as not to need anything that you are used to in the city. Of course, soap and washing powder are always present on this list, because children in nature do not stand on ceremony with clothes.

After washing the laundry in a basin with washing powder, the question always arises: "Where to pour the contents?" If you do not want to ruin the harvest of vegetables or abundantly flowering flower beds, then you have to bypass them. You cannot pour the mixture stuffed with harmful chemicals onto the lawn, and therefore you have to drag the basin onto the dusty road running along the fence. It seems that he saved the beds and nailed the road dust to the ground. But this is convenient if there is only one bowl of such water. And with a big wash, you get tired of walking back and forth.

Plants instead of washing powder

Is it worth adding laundry detergent to the list, when nature has long created loyal helpers for washing, which are not in short supply in the village.

These assistants include:

• The roots of a plant with the name"

Soapy medicinal ».

• Seed powder

mustard

• Horse fruits

chestnut

• Root crops of our nurse,

potatoes

• Beans

beans any color.

Benefits of using for washing plants

• They do not contain toxic chemical elements, and therefore the water after washing can be safely poured onto the beds and flower beds without worrying about the consequences.

• For the same reason, they do not cause allergies in humans at the time of washing.

• They do not remain on the fabric, like chemicals, and therefore protect the human body from allergies when wearing clothes. This is especially true for children's clothing.

For washing, use a decoction from the roots. The broth not only removes dirt from clothing, but also helps to maintain its color, remove stains, and does not provoke allergies.

Mustard seed powder

Mustard greens will be a good fertilizer for the soil, and the collected seeds, crushed into powder, will serve as a detergent for washing silk and woolen clothes and washing dishes.

When using a washing machine, powder is poured in the same way as washing powder. 50 grams is enough for one wash.

For hand washing, an infusion of mustard powder is prepared. For this, 15 grams of powder is poured with a liter of hot water, mixed well and allowed to settle. The infusion without sediment is added to the water for washing. After washing, rinse in clean cold water.

Fresh potatoes

Potatoes are suitable for washing woolen and heavily discolored items, excluding white items.

Using a kitchen grater, grind a couple of kilograms of fresh potatoes. We squeeze and remove the potato hog, from which you can make potato pancakes, and pour the slurry into the water for washing. After beating up the foam, proceed to a gentle wash. Rinse in warm water, adding vinegar at the last rinse.

Beans from the legume family

When using beans as a detergent, similar to potatoes, we kill two birds with one stone. We get boiled beans for making salads or a side dish for main courses, and after straining the broth, pour it into a washing container. Beat up the foam and start washing. Especially good for woolen items.
